From the book, THE ELBERT JONES FAMILY OF BUTLER COUNTY ALABAMA, FOR AND AFT by June Jones Igo*:
John Gipson, son of Margaret Gipson & Greenberry Lee, b. 27 June 1839, Covington Co Ala. (Note from Sandra: Greenberry's children lived only 3-4 miles apart when they lived both in Covington County (Westover) and Butler County (McKenzie or Oakey Streak or South Butler or Industry) d 2 December 1895 and is buried with his wife Minerva B. Jones in Macedonia Cemetery near Industry in South Butler County.
   Information from Kenneth Gipson states that the Gipsons (or widow and children) came from Putnam County Ga. to Alabama with the Greenberry Lee familly.
    Margaret Gipson in census of 18j40 is in the house next to Greenberry Lee with a son under five (John); a daughter under five (Celia) and a daughter 5-10 (Nancy?) (or-note from Sandra-Caroline?)
In the 1850 cenand sus, Celia Gipson lives with William and Nancy South; Caroline Gipson lives with Greenberry and Martha Jane Taylor Lee and their five children. Sanford and Elender Goru;m live next door. In the 1860 census, John and Elender Gibson and Celia Douglas are living in the household of Elender Gorum.  Information from Patrick Lee
