So, I'm on a Finnish NS server one day and join marines. Not many people in the server, just me and Eksynyt Apukuu and 2 aliens. People come and go, from 2vs2 to 5vs5..
Anyway, I go around the map building RT's, TF's and PG's and all the essentials needed to get resources and secure Hives. Finally we have PG and turrets at 2 hives, and all the res we can possibly want. Then Apukuu and lihasmies decide to fool around a bit, me going along with it, and we decide to overrun the last Hive(which was actually moved from Sewer to Generator) with 30 sieges.
The pictures speak for themselves, but lemme tell you.. 500Mhz computer with GeForce4mx and 56k modem, does not handle 30siege+buildings very well. :-)
Finally, lihasmies and I kinda screwed up. After having build the sieges, Apukuu wanted to take some final screenshots of the Hive. Now, I know sieges attack enemy structures when they are close and someone sees the structures, or the place is scanned. What I had not realised was that you don't have to actually see them.. you just need to have a clear line of sight to them. So, the Hive and surrounding chambers (yes, there were a few built there) went up in smoke in, oh say, 5 seconds.
No harm, no foul, and me and Apukuu played a few more rounds, but I must say I feel ashamed that I had not understood to go around the long way. Oh well, life goes on.
