FAITH'S CRANBERRY SALAD
The first time I ate this was on Thanksgiving many years ago, at Uncle John's house. I immediately asked Jo for the recipe, which, as it turns out, she got from Aunt Faith. It's full of celery and nuts and orange rind and fresh cranberries... it's supposed to be a relish, but it's just as good as a dessert! It's been a family classic ever since.
INGREDIENTS | |||||||||||||||
2 cups ground cranberries (or one bag) 2 cups sugar 2 pkg. red Jell-O 2 cups boiling water 8 ice cubes 1 cup diced celery 1 cup chopped nuts 1 orange, ground, rind and all (blender works well for this) |
|||||||||||||||
DIRECTIONS | |||||||||||||||
Grind the cranberries, add sugar, let stand several hours. Prepare Jell-O and chill until it begins to set. Add all other ingredients and chill until firm.
