PEACH AND CREAM DESSERT | |||||||||||||||||
Remember the banana puddings our mothers used to make for us with vanilla wafers? This is a wonderful variation of the same basic concept, and not nearly as heavy. | |||||||||||||||||
INGREDIENTS | |||||||||||||||||
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened sliced peaches 18 vanilla wafers 1 1 1/4 ounce envelope dessert topping mix 1/2 cup orange juice 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg shredded orange peel (optional) |

DIRECTIONS | |||||||||||||||||
Thaw peaches, if frozen. Line six dessert dishes, using 3 vanilla wafers for each dish. Prepare dessert topping mix according to package directions, except use the orange juice instead of the milk. Drain and chop peaches coarsely. Fold peaches and nutmeg into the whipped topping. Spoon peach mixture into the cookie-lined dessert dishes. Cover and chill. If desired, garnish each serving with shredded orange peel. | |||||||||||||||||
