BAKED STRAWBERRY CUSTARD
Say what you want, Bill Cosby; you're never gonna find this stuff in a box! Preparing it takes a little work, so you may want to wait until you actually like your family - say, anywhere between days eight and eleven of your cycle.
INGREDIENTS | |||||||||||||||
4 eggs 1/4 tsp salt ground cinnamon 2 1/3 cups milk 2 cups sliced strawberries, fresh or frozen 1/2 tsp almond extract 1/2 cup sugar whipped topping (optional) |
|||||||||||||||
DIRECTIONS | |||||||||||||||
In medium bowl, beat eggs; blend in milk, sugar, almond extract and salt. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the berries, reserving the rest for garnish. Place 6 6-ounce custard cups in a 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking pan on oven rack. Divide custard evenly. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Pour boiling water into pan around cups to depth of one inch. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 50-60 minutes, or till knife inserted near center comes out clean. Chill. Serve with whipped topping and strawberry garnish.
