They'll Never Have Paris
ALL MY CHILDREN's Vanessa has no intention of letting her baby boy, Leo, move to Paris with his new wife, so this week she'll try to stop him-with deadly consequences.
"Greenlee has gone to Paris to find them a place while Leo basically takes care of his messed-up family," sets up Leo's departing portrayer, Josh Duhamel.  "Leo keeps trying to help David, but he finally says, 'You know what?  You're my brother.  Trey's my brother.  I love you guys.  But you just can't stay out of trouble.  I have to get out of here; otherwise, it's never going to work for me."
"Greenlee comes back from Paris and she had rented an apartment," chimes Rebecca Budig (Greenlee).  "It looks as if Leo may want to stay and help David, but it ends up that he wants to go to Paris, after all.  He wants to be a good husband, and they're going to go.  And then Vanessa gets out."
As Vanessa is escaping, Leo gets word that David has been arrested (again), so he heads out to help him one last time.
"He leaves the apartment saying, 'David's in trouble!'" continues Budig.  "He runs out the door and she's running after him putting her shoes on, and there at the door is Vanessa with a gun."  Vanessa takes Greenlee to Miller's Falls, then calls Leo to tell him where he can find his bride.  Leo grabs Trey, and they set out for the falls.
"He goes to meet them at this sort of national park," says Duhamel.  "The set is amazing.  I was like, 'Whos!  Thanks you for this!  It's a good way to leave."
Once Leo gets there, he orders his loopy mom to let Greenlee go.  She refuses, and then tells him a location in the park where she has supposedly hidden the Proteus money, now in the form of diamonds.
"He goes to get the diamonds," says Budig.  'But when he comes back, she still has the gun.  He starts dropping the diamonds one by one into the water because she's not going to let Greenlee go.  And I guess it looks like she might shoot him, so Greenlee lunges for Vanessa.  They have a struggle-and she falls."
When Leo sees Greenlee go over the edge, he flips out and lunges at his gem of a mom.
"Leo is really upset, and they get into a struggle," previews Budig.  "He'll do anything to save Greenlee-and she'll do anything to save him.  They both get into trouble doing that."
Greenlee lands on a ledge about 20 feet down.  "Trey helps her up over the ledge," explains Budig.  "She has a fantasy that Leo has helped her over the edge, because she's completely out of it.  She ends up in the hospital.  They giver her a tranquilizer before she gets to the hospital because she's losing it.  She doesn't find out what has happened to Leo for a while."
Fans will know on Thursday, though.  "It's fast-paced and should be fun to watch," predicts Budig.  "The set is really big and we all had stunt doubles."  As for Greenlee's future without Leo, Budig insists that she has "no idea.  But I hope it's not a man right away.  When her father died, she didn't have much of a grieving period.  All of a sudden, it was water under the bridge and she doesn't mention her father anymore.  I hope that doesn't happen with Leo.  They have so much history."
So do Budig and Duhamel.  "It's like being in a relationship-I've known this guy for three years!" Budig points out.  "We've cried together, laughed together, we've fought together, we've done everything together like you would do in a normal relationship.  Except that it's been on TV.  When you share that intimacy with somebody, you get close to them.  We don't really hang out outside of work, but we have this relationship.  Working with Josh has been an incredible experience.  I've learned a lot.  I am getting upset talking about it.  I'm devastated that he's leaving, I'm absolutely devastated.  So, now that I am crying in my lunch...what was the question?!"
