In this issue, we take you to
the Mid Autumn Goldfish Show
The Mid Autumn Goldfish Show was organised by RafflesGold and SamGoldfish to coincide with the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (3rd October this year). It is a date that parallels the autumn and spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. Traditionally, this is the Mid Autumn Festival (中秋節) where families gather to savor the tasty moon cakes made from delicious lotus paste and children enjoy displaying colourful lanterns.
To further perk up the traditional mood of this occasion, all varieties of goldfish in the Mid Autumn Goldfish Show were assessed like in the olden days - from the top view. Besides the Top View Ranchu Category and the Top View Dragon Eye Butterfly Category, there was also the Open category for all other varieties of goldfish. The show was a great success with all entries filled up by eager participants and the public having a good time with the traditional Mid Autumn activities.
