IPFW voice teacher Julie Donnell will appear in a concert featuring the 17th century chamber music of Dietrich Buxtehude. Directed by IPFW professor Melanie Bookout, the concert also features faculty members Ann Donner, Wayne Peterson, and Robert Allen Saunders. They will be joined by Russell Bookout and Anne Martin, friends of the Department of Music.

IPFW student Jan McCauley was the winner of a 2003 Design Projects Award in costume design at the recent 36th Annual Regional American College Theatre Festival in January. Her costume designs for the musical PIPPIN took top honors as a non-realized design project.

Ten students, along with Professor Jane Purse-Wiedenhoeft, participated in the festival. Performance majors Melissa Dowty and Kasey Foster advanced to the semi-final and final rounds, respectively, in the Irene Ryan Foundation Acting and Scholarship competition. Kyra Hartman also submitted costume designs in the fully realized production category for SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER.

Ball State student Tony Sirk, from the Fort Wayne area, directs RUTHLESS!: THE MUSICAL, which runs through the March 10 in Strother Theatre at Ball State University. The Pulse Opera House in Warren will hold auditions for ARSENIC AND OLD LACE March 1 at 7:30. The first round of auditions for THE FANTASTICKS is March 2 and 3 at 7:30. Pulse will take this production to the international musical theatre festival in Germany this November. The cast must pay for their own plane tickets, but food, lodging, and transportation at the festival are provided.
