Jacob's Ladder was a pattern easily recognized by our quilting ancestors, and it is easily recognized amongst the Amish and Mennonites. It is one of the oldest pieced patterns.

Jacob's Ladder shows up in many different settings, and it takes a trained eye sometimes to know that you are looking at it!. Our setting shows the simple beauty of the pattern. If the darker colors don't appeal to you, we really like it in the blues and yellow shown in the illustration below. This pattern is intermediate: it is fun and simple, but basic knowledge of quilting and ability to sew an accurate and consistent 1 / 4 " seam allowance is necessary, as always.
