                 NEW! 'Hope Fades'

This gorgeous gown is worn in the film "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" by the Lady Eowyn. So far this is the only picture of this gown that I have, as it only makes a brief - but beautiful - appearance in the film.

This gorgeous gown has almost exactly the same construction as 'Meduseld': a very feminine v-neck, long pennant sleeves, and tight undersleeves of matching fabric. The gown is made of jet-black velvet, and the large billowing sleeves are lined in patterned copper brocade from India. These turn up to form a cuff approximately 3" wide. The tight undersleeves are made of matching brocade. The v-neck is bound with a band of the same brocade, unifying the design of the gown.

The belt is unusual, one I have not seen before. The tongue, strands of copper and gold beads connected to the centre medallion, comes almost to the ankles. The belt itself is a broad band of the copper brocade, stiffened for shape, and connects in the front with a hand-crafted metal triangle.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive):

In jet-black velvet and copper brocade: $550

                 'Shield-Maiden'

This gorgeous bliaut and bodice is worn by the Lady Eowyn in "The Return of the King", when she bids farewell to the Rohirrim and her secret love, Aragorn.

The bliaut is made of subtly patterned cream jacquard. The sleeves are breathtaking: very long split sleeves with attached cording above the elbow, to further emphasise their fullness. The neck is unusual: halfway between a v-neck and a sweetheart neckline.

The bodice is two pieces, both made of a deep, richly-hued chocolate wool or linen (your choice). The outer layer is a backlacing half-corset, quilted in matching thread to form a dainty diagonal pattern. Under this is worn a plain vest of matching chocolate wool, with delicate capped sleeves for a subtly feminine touch. Fancy Celtic-themed gold trim adds an elegant touch, with three rows at the bottom of the corset and one beneath the bustline, as well as along the neckline and sleeve edges.

Eowyn wears this gown first at Meduseld, but it is later seen at Dunharrow, the Rohirrim encampment. Here it is worn with a just-above-floor-length skirt of brown linen, presumably to protect the creamy fabric beneath from being stained.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive):

In cream jacquard, chocolate wool, and brown linen: $450

                 'Refugee'

This two-piece dress is worn in the film "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" by the Lady Eowyn, as she flees for the refuge of Helm's Deep.

The first layer is a very simply styled gown, with long, tightly fitting sleeves and a very feminine scoop neck. It is made from slate-blue crinkle matte satin, to come close to the texture of the original. (Sadly, I cannot find any fabric with the gold threads running through, as the film's version has.) It is accented with gold contrast stitching around the neck. The tight sleeves are bound at the upper arm with a tannish-colour cord (attached to the sleeve for security).

The second and outermost layer is a brown sleeveless jumper. It is made of chocolate linen, and ties at the sides with intricately knotted gold cords.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive):

In slate-blue crinkle satin and chocolate linen: $200

                 'Meduseld'

This beautiful gown is worn by the character Eowyn in the Christmas 2002 movie, 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'. It is my favourite gown of hers. This very lovely fitted gown is made of white wool, lined in brocade of a slightly darker white. The neck is a very feminine v-neck. Note the long pennant sleeves, where the lining can be very clearly seen and contrasts beautifully with the white. The sleeves are bound with gold cord (tacked down for security) just above the elbows, to further accentuate the lovely billowing aspect of the sleeves. They are edged in gold-and-white twisted cord for a really striking finish. Also present, though not visible very often, are tight-fitted undersleeves of gold satin overlaid with shimmering organza and accent-stitched with gold thread.

The belt is long and heavy, and comes to the ankles. The 'tongue' of the belt is embroidered in gold, and accented with metallic gold cord. In fact, the pattern almost resembles a Gothic pieced-glass window. The belt itself is made of twisted metal wire medallions attached to an embroidered fabric background.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive) and belt:

In white wool, lined in brocade: $450

Unfortunately, the belt cannot be purchased separately at this time.

    'Requiem Cloak'

This gorgeous cloak makes its appearance in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King'.

I have at last found the perfect fabric for this cloak. It will be made of a STUNNING embossed velvet. The colour is a steel blue with purple and grey undertones to it - beautiful! The embossing is in an "Elvish" swirly leaf and vine pattern in gold. It almost has the look of being beaded and has a fabulous drape.

The cloak has a very unusual shape to it: almost like a 'W' with bits that fold back to frame the face. The cloak is quite full and billowy, perfect to keep you warm on those cold winter nights. Also included will be a licensed replica of Arwen's Butterfly Brooch in sterling silver, to complete the authentic look.

Price for one-size fits most (hemmed to specifications): $525

    'Mourning'

This gorgeous gown makes its appearance in a flash-forward scene in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'.

This is my favourite of Arwen's dresses, as it is a gorgeous blend of Human and Elven style. The gown is quite reminiscent of a Mediaeval cotehardie, very form-fitting with elegant princess seaming.

The gown is made of buttery-soft, slinky black velvet. (Alternately it can be made of very dark blue, which is the true colour of the dress, but many customers prefer the black.) The skirt is very full, with a train approximately one foot long, pooling gracefully about the feet. (This train can be made shorter upon request.)

The upper part of the gown is quite lovely. The sleeves are two part: a very slim-fitting upper sleeve and the lower, billowing "Elven" sleeves, which are lined in fluid black satin charmeuse. A wide band of ornate gold beaded and embroidered trim contrasts between the upper and lower sleeves. The neck plunges into a very wide 'V'. This is trimmed in hand-embroidered and beaded bullion trim. At the very centre of the 'V' the neck is split, and inset into this is a 'V' of deep red silk. Going down from this split-neck is a row of eleven golden buttons.

A matching belt of red silk is also included, as is the veil of silk chiffon. (The crown is not included.)

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive): $755

    'Crimson Dreams'

This gorgeous gown has been making sneak appearances since the first trailer for 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' was released (see first photo). It is worn in the Christmas 2003 'The Return of the King'.

It is a two-piece gown: an underdress and contrasting overdress. Both are very full, with a train in the back of the overdress.

The body of the boatnecked underdress is buttery-soft, slinky black satin charmeuse (to reduce the overall weight of the dress - the sleeves alone weigh quite a bit!). The sleeves are attached to this underdress, and are in two parts: upper, slightly-above-the-elbow sleeves in paisley silk charmeuse, and the billowy, "Elven" sleeves in crimson velvet, lined with matching satin charmeuse. Contrasting between the upper and lower sleeves is a wide band of ornate gold trim.

The sleeveless overdress is made of fine black velvet, with a deep scoop neck trimmed in the same paisley as the sleeves.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive): $575

    'Requiem Gown'

These are, so far, these are only photos I have of this gorgeous dress, which Arwen wears in the movie, 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King'.

The outfit is comprised of two gowns: an underdress and sleeveless overdress. It is very similar in overall style to the crimson gown above, but without the extra fullness in the skirt. There is no train.

Both dresses are made of the same rich, deep blue velvet. The collar of the underdress is a slightly deeper scoop than the overdress, and is trimmed in a wide band shimmering silver satin. The sleeves are attached to this underdress, and are in two parts: upper, slightly-above-the-elbow sleeves, and the billowy, "Elven" sleeves. The upper sleeves are the same velvet as the body of the gown, but are overlaid in delicately embroidered chiffon. The lower sleeves are of of silver-grey jacquard brocade. Contrasting between the upper and lower sleeves is a band of sparkling silver paisley trim imported from India. This can be beaded for an additional cost, or left plain.

The overdress is fairly simple, sleeveless, with a wide boat neck trimmed in the same silver as the underdress. This can be beaded at an additional cost, but will look very nice without as well.

Price for an average (size 12) gown (plus sizes will be more expensive):

Without beading on collars and trim: $550

With beading on collars and trim: $650
