Thoughts and Observations May 12, 2001 Rant "Deeper into the Void" Okay, today was the day of the Prom. Did I go? No. Did I help set up? Yes. Anyway, I've been thinking. Thinking about the Grammys, the poor record sales on TTA, Right now, I'm looking at a page that's really thought-provoking, intruiging, and whatnot. I love the webmistress's view points, respect her opinions, and not to mention strongly agree with several of her opinions and view points, except for the complaint about about the personality change in a way. I can understand, but then again, with time, things do happen and you have to shrug your shoulders and move on with life. I have heard from people who have met the boys that they are still very nice, but still in a way, you cannot go back in time or change the past. If I could change the past, I would prevent myself from being sexually harassed when I was twelve. That incident has made me cold and detached, not to mention untrusting. Well, what do I know? People with time change. No one can stay innocent forever. I agree that I liked their youthful pesonalities of 1997, the youth, the innocence, the boundless enthusiasm, heh, the slight immaturity that boys that age have. Now, I can't exactly say that they have changed for the better. Of course, we can't forget that they are MEN and men are well, men. I think that their thought processes have become more complex, somewhat like several of the pages that I find I enjoy, the air of kindness can still be felt in how they talk, ~I really don't know how to describe it. It's like you can tell that those personalities of 1997 are still in them, they're just now hidden and more complex, or they have become more "rounded characters" now. Of course their actions like the roof incident and cigars are typical, you could say. There are people out there who aren't rock stars who have done that. I know kids that have snuck to parties. I know kids who drink underage of US. Hanson are not immortal Greek gods or untouchable, free of sins. For crying out loud, they're men!! (Not that there's anything wrong with men. They're just well, men. ::shrugs::) The boys are growing up, and the fact is is that Isaac and taylor are both legal adults in the US's eyes. They can vote, smoke, get piercings, call Cleo the taro card lady, buy things off TV, buy lottery tickets, tatoos or whatever they want almost now and their parents are not going to be there to hold their hand through life forever. In life, although I am just 17 and 1/2, I've realized that no one's going to hold your hand in life and it's all improv, and you only learn from your mistakes because life itself is the greatest classroom, but the most difficult grader. Right now I feel terrible for the Hanson fans that live out of the states. Especially for the ones who have been promised a concert, and then deneyed it in a blink of an eye. I guess I take for granted a lot how lucky I am to live in the states, and I have seen the boys perform once in Philidelphia. Considering that they are people, I'll give them a little break, but when you're supposed to be a "good person" you should be able to keep your word, well at least in my book, anyway. But What has always bothered me about the boys is how sudden their actions are. It was only after I bought tickets for Philidelphia did I hear the next day that they would be playing at York, PA. I was rather annoyed because if they had planned earlier, I and other fans would not have spent our hard earned money on a venu farther away then the next county that they advertize the next day after. To be bluntly honest, I don't know if it's them or THEIR TOUR MANAGER. I would like to know. I feel bad for every one outside of the US. If this is the actions of their tour manager, or the pulled strings of their record company, it has got to stop because we understand if they're busy, but sometime I think it'd be nice if they did a tour that excluded the states. Sure numerous US fans would be mad, but then again, the US has been privilged and have taken for granted the fact that these US boys have toured the US twice. Places like Austrailia and other countries havn't even been fortunate as others. I would be happy if they did take that into consideration. Hanson just doesn't have fans in the US. They're all over, but you'll lose them if you don't tour where they are as a "Thank you for your support all this time". That would be really appreciated. |
