| Green Teens of the YWCA of Lowell, Massachusetts is a group of teens from the Acre Youth Center who care about their environment and are willing to do outreach to stop unsafe and destructive acts to our environment and pollution. The "GreenTeen" Teens are Mike Vargas De Llanos, Noelia Flores, Stephanie Lopez, and Kpana Jordan, all under the supervision of Suzanne deLesdernier. |

| Why is Recycling Important? |
| Recycling is important because we need to conserve our natural resources that provide us with the clean air we breath, the fresh water we drink and the beautiful environment we have. Recycling is also important for the animals. They have the right to live in this environment as much as we do. |
| Green Teens Celebrate America Recycles Day A Success! On Wednesday November 15, 2001 ,at City Hall, Green Teens celebrated America Recycles Day! We did a skit instead of doing a boring speech about recycling and also to be creative. Our skit was funny ,for us, hopefully it was funny to our audience. Among the many people that attended the meeting there was a group called the River Ambassador Program which had a lot of people present to lend there support for their cause. It was the most entertaining Recycling meeting that you could ever attend because a representative from the Lowell Folk Festival recycling program played the banjo,a recycled banjo, and also sang a song. |

| We Need Your Help! Greenteens needs Christmas Donations to help the children at the youth center! If you or your organization want to donate any money, before December 10,2001, please make checks or money orders payable to Acre Youth Center c/o YWCA 41 Rock St. Lowell, MA 01854. The theme for our annual Christmas party is Unity,Recycling, and Traditional New England Christmas. In conjunction with this theme the youth center is making cultural food from different countries and cultures such as Yankee, Filipino, Latino, Chinese,Portugeuse, Puerto Rican, Laotian, Greek, Italian, Cambodian and much much more... if you know anyone that can make any traditional food or can donate money please send donations for a good cause. |
