Alan Wayne Orcutt

Alan Wayne Orcutt was born on November 25, 1946 in New Bern, North Carolina to Selwyn Francis Orcutt and Mary Wilhelmina Plenkers.

After graduating from Jacksonville High School in 1964, Alan attended East Carolina University (1964 - 1965). In 1965, Alan decided to join the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in Norfolk, Va, Cape Hatteras, NC, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. After completing his tour of duty in 1969, he attended Lake City Forestry College in Lake City, Fla. and graduated in July, 1971.

Alan then worked for Westvaco Corporation (now called MeadWestvaco) as a forester in Monk's Corner, SC and then in 1972 joined Carolina Power and Light (now called Progress Energy) where he works to this day.

Alan currently resides in Pine Knoll Shores, NC with his wife Jill.
