There's a contest going on at Official Greg Raposo Street Team !

THE ORIGINAL CONTEST:

We promised a contest and we promised a purpose for the state leaders, and now you're getting both. What were gonna do is, were gonna get Greg's name out there, and were gonna get Greg's CD sold! We know you all love Greg and would all do it out of the goodness of your hearts...BUT we decided to make it fun and make a contest out of it. More details will be sent out soon by state leaders, but let me just give you an idea of what's going to be happening...

You guys are going to be competing in groups within your state against other state groups, to see who can get the most CD's sold. The CD's sold will be accounted for by the receipts which you will collect at the time of purchase. The receipt must say Greg Raposo on it (which to the best of my knowledge, they all do) and if a CD is purchased at a show, you must ask for a receipt which will be signed by either Maryann or Laura to be legit. Each "round" of the contest will last 4 weeks, 3 weeks to actually get the CD's sold, and 1 week to send in the receipts and allow them to be counted.

There will be 10 people in each group (we will be picking the groups to be fair). The group of 10 (and the state leader) who sells the most CD's in a round will win a private online chat with Greg himself, this means there will be a winner each round. Also at the end of the whole contest, the state leader(s) for the STATE who sells the most over all will get a phone call from Greg.

The states who are going to be competing first are New York (which will be split into sections), Massachusetts, California, and Georgia and Wisconsin (Georgia and Wisconsin will be combined to assure a fair amount of people). I am going to handle putting the names together in NY and Jina will be handling the other 4 states. What I need you to do now is if you are from NY please click on this link and tell me your name, email address, and age. I'll need to know where abouts you live because New York will be split into sections. The sections will be Long Island, Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens (we may combine one of more of these sections if enough people for a group of 10 don't want to participate in the contest). If you live in Massachusetts, California, Georgia, or Wisconsin, please click on this link and tell Jina your name, email address, age, and state you live in.
You will have till Sunday, September 20th to enter the contest. On Monday state leaders will contact each of you with full rules of the contest.

We can only work from receipts so for CD's already purchased and no receipt those will not be counted. All other states will have their chance in this contest so start collecting the receipts now by asking your friends, relatives, school mates, or just by going to the mall with fliers.

Also at this time I want ALL STATE LEADERS to contact me at PopTartKel@aol.com with their name, state, email address, and age so when the time comes for your state's round this process will go more quickly. This is especially important because the state leader will be in charge or a lot for this contest, so if I don't get any emails, I'll be forced to select new state leaders.

Like I said more information will follow from your state leader. We are very excited about this contest and we hope you are too. Hopefully everything will run smoothly!


MEMBERS CONTEST:

We have come to the conclusion, that we don't think we have enough people to successfully run the original contest at this time...however, I am saving the information that everyone sent me for when we do decide to do this contest in the not so far off future. We're not gonna leave you all bummed out though. We decided an awesome way to get more people to join (so we can have the original contest) would be to have a members contest! Oh I know how you all LOVE those.

So what you're going to do is tell everyone you know about Greg and his street team, even Greg fans you know that might not already be on the street team. Have them join, and then have them email me saying YOU send them. Make sure they include your name AND email address or you will not get credit for joining them. Make sure that whoever you have join will stay in the street team permanently, we don't want any temporaries here and then have everyone leave when the contest is over. ALSO make sure that when they join, that they chose to get "Individual Email" because sometimes people aren't aware and chose another option, then complain when they don't receive all the street team messages.

As for a prize...we were thinking and thinking and we couldn't think of anything. WE couldn't think of anything...but Greg sure could! If you join the most members, you will win something Greg personally picked out! Isn't that cool? Every Greg fan would LOVE a present from Greg, but only one will get it!

The contest will be running all month. I want all people to have emailed me by October 26th. If I get any after that date, I will not be able to count them.

NOTE: Make sure that they are aware what the street team is all about. Also make sure you tell them that it is FREE to join.

Here is your chance!!! This offer at this time, only goes out to Fans who live near The Galleria Mall in Middletown, The South Shore Mall in Boston and The Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City. You must live or your school must be within 1 hour distance to the Mall. Please get your parents permission before you enter this contest. Contest Rules:

We need fans from three different area schools to enter this contest. Two fans per school. Please only enter this contest if you can get 100 or more people to come.

This is what you will need to do:

1. Make Flyers promoting Greg's in-store: Hand them out at your school (maybe give the flyers to each homeroom teacher so every student can receive one) I can create the flyer for you and e-mail it to you. You would need to make the copies maybe at school or your parents work place. You may need to get your teachers permission or principals permission to do this.

2. Go to The Mall where Greg will be and hand out flyers a few days before the meet and greet and the same day. Make sure you get The Malls Security permission. Explain to them that Greg will be at their store doing a signing.

3. If you are selected for this contest then you and your friend will be invited to a Private Pizza Party with Greg at The Mall right after Greg's signing is over that day.

4. So how can you get your friends to come? Everyone who buys Greg's CD the day of the signing will receive a free raffle and a free gift from Greg himself. All who attend must bring with them the flyer for a free gift and raffle. The winner of the raffle will be invited to the Pizza Party at the Mall and they will be able to bring one friend. We will draw three raffles. So there will be three winners!!!!!!!

7. Please note that only CD buyers will be eligible for the raffle and the free gift.

8. Local Press coverage would be great if you can suggest any or arrange it.

South Shore Mall: October 6, 2003
Roosevelt Field Mall: October 6, 2003
The Galleria Mall: October 7, 2003

Write me an essay (not too long) on why you should be chosen to enter this contest.

1. Make sure you mention which Mall you are writing about.
2. Add the distance to the Mall from your school.
3. The name of your school.
4. The two names that are being entered into the contest and your ages. Adults can enter too!!!!
5. Make sure you get your parents permission to enter the contest.

The three paired winners from each school will be notified by October 6th & 7th. You will only receive an e-mail from me if you are chosen.
