NEW IDOLS: What are the names of the people in your band? GREG: There's me, Greg Raposo. There's Simon, John, Nick, Vin and Garnett.
Most people know that you were in Dream Street but what did you guys do? Have you guys done anything?
They are very talented musicians and I put them together as a band and whatever and we just you know, they are normal kids actually.
Do you guys have a name?
It's just me.
What was it like opening for Nine Days?
It was a lot of fun they were really cool guys. I actually didn't to talk to them much but it was a lot of fun.
Do you write your own songs?
Right, yup, all the songs that you'll be hearing today I wrote.
Any plans on recording a CD?
Yeah I'm working on it right now. Yeah I'm in the studio almost everyday.
Do you know when it'll be out?
It takes a while to finish recording it but the second I'm done you can definitely expect it out there.
Have you always been into rock?
Yeah my whole life I've been into rock. When I was six years old that's the reason I picked up the guitar.
Who is your inspiration for doing all this?
When I first started the reason why I pretty much wanted to get into this was because I used to watch Elvis Presley videos with my dad and I used to think it was pretty cool. How you know him and his guitar and all the screaming girls. All the music and everything, I love music so.
You've got them up there. Oh my God they are all up there! [laughs]
Do you have a hero or someone you look up to?
Oh, I look up to my band, because they're all great guys. [His band says "Aww"]
Aw, he's so nice! Do you like performing with your band more than you did performing as Dream Street?
Dream Street was a great experience I mean I devoted a lot of my time and life to that and it was great I loved every minute of it. But you know sometimes you just got to move on. I love this just as much, you know like being onstage as a rock band. It's a lot more you know, like personal and meaningful doing this but Dream Street was still great.
Do you prefer singing rock over pop?
Yeah.
Do you miss your insane teenie bopper fans?
Ah, they're still up there [smiles] so, not yet. I don't miss them yet.
Can I ask about how the lawsuit affected you?
Yeah sure, what was it? How did it affect you, and your relationship with the guys?
You know what, between me, Chris, Matt, Frankie, and Jesse, there was never any like bad blood between any of us it was more so, you know the producers and the parents and like it's just a bunch of legal, dumb stuff. You know it never really got between the boys, we were always great friends and still are and everything.
So are you and Chris still friends?
Yeah I haven't talked to him in a long time but you know there's no bad blood between us. So you all still hang out?
Yeah, I was just hanging out with Jesse last weekend. Are you single? Or involved with anyone?
Yes [smiles]. I'm single, not involved.
Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
I just want to say it means a lot, you know that they are sticking in with me and supporting me still with everything that's going on. I just want to thank them for you know everything and the support means a lot to me. And Hopefully I'll be seeing them all real soon because I want to get a tour started and everything and get on the road and stuff. There's a lot of people I want to see.
Thank you very much for the interview Greg.
Thank You.
I would like to thank Mrs. Raposo for giving us the opportunity to interview Greg, and Greg for taking time to answer all of my questions.
