This interview belongs to Spotlight Entertainment Magazine !
Thank you so much for letting me use it on my site!
SPOTLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT: Hey Greg! First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with us! Can you please start by introducing your self?
GREG: Sorry that it took me so long to get this done. Your right about that busy schedule. Anyway my name is Greg Raposo and hmmm.. I'm 18 years old.
I'm an upcoming new artist. Most people know me from a group that I use to be in called "Dream Street." I've been writing music & playing guitar since I was about 6 years old. I always dreamed about becoming a rock star so basically I'm just some dude chasing his dreams.
At what age did you start singing and getting into performing?
I picked up my first guitar when I was six. When I started getting lessons my guitar teacher always made me sing along to every song we would play on the guitar so that's how I got started with the whole singing thing. Professionally I got into this buisness when I was about nine when I did Parent Guide Magazine Talent Show & also Ed McMann's Star Search. I won both of these competitions. From there on it's been a staircase of taking steps every day and chasing a dream to the top.
How did you get started in the music business?
It was a simple love of music that got me started in the music business. I tugged on my Mom's sleeve as at about everyday to find me a guitar teacher. She finally did and the rest is history.
Its great that you are doing your own thing now, can you tell us a little bit about what you have been up to lately?
Lately I've been in the recording studio a lot working on my new album and rehearsing with my band. It's fun work though.
Do you have any idea when your fans can be expecting your new CD?
As of right now it's not even finished yet but we're working as hard and fast as we can so that we can hopefully release it sometime possibly by this summer.
Will you be touring this summer or doing any concerts?
Yea I'm def. gonna be doing a ton of shows this summer and traveling as much as possible. Whether I'm touring on my own or touring with someone else I should def. be doing some sort of tour.
Who are some of your musical inspirations?
I find inspiration in a lot of musical performers and bands. Truthfully it's tough to pick one person or group above all the rest but usually I answer that question saying Elvis Presley because I've always looked up to him for accomplishing so much and making such a difference in the music world.
You are very talented with guitar, writing your own songs, and not to mention singing. Is there any other special talents you have?
I am an actor, dancer and some say comedian. I belong to all the actors unions.
What are your goals for 2003?
I definitely set goals for myself, but not ones that are specific enough to say. Success is infinite, therefore a specific goal is meaningless. My goal is to just keep on climbing and dreaming and doing what I love more then anything and that's performing.
Can you describe what the new "style" of your music is?
It's a lot different from anything else you have ever heard from me. It's a lot more rock and a lot less pop. But of course I grew up in the Pop world so you'll still find some of it. I like to think of it as "Clean Rock." Almost like a new style of music. My songs aren't about death or suicide or drugs, but rather just incidents that I went through or emotions that I felt and put in words.
Would you like to say a message to all your fans?
I want my fans to know how much I appreciate everything that they do for me and how much their support and love truly means to me. If I ever feel like I'm falling they are always there to help me up and they mean more to me than the world. So basically thank you sooooo much for everything and I really can't wait to see all of you ASAP.
Thank you again for doing this interview with us!
Thanx! Thanks for the interview.. ttyl.. peace out dog Greg
