Three Days Grace - Three Days Grace
My Thoughts: (Reviewed by O. Anderson)
Very similar to Evanescence, I also stole
this CD from my little sister. Having received a negative result from that
previous venture, I definitely thought this album would be a piece of crap,
and also because I wasn't very impressed with hearing their song, "I
Hate Everything About You", on every pop radio station around... not
saying that the song itself was bad. But, I pretty much compared them to the
likes of Blink 182 or Sum 41 or Hoobastank. This, though, turned out to be
a rash judgment.
I was not disappointed at all in these guys. I find that while they look a
bunch of pop-punk rockers, their music is not at all tainted by their popularity
among pre-teen girls. I really do think they are worty of high praise. I mean,
their music is pretty simple... the guitar riffs are nothing to scream about,
nor the drums, although the singer does have a cool voice. It's just pretty
hardcore. Apparently the guy had a screwed up family, judging by the cover
of the album and a bunch of the songs. The lyrics highly suggest that theory...
i do have a gripe about it, but it's nothing big... the lyrics are very repetitive,
not from song to song, but within songs. ie, the singer repeats a lot of lyrics
in certain songs. It's nothing big at all... So, yes, this CD is definitely
worth a purchase, and good listen.
