Alanis Morissette - So Called Chaos

My Thoughts: (Reviewed by Big Pun)

The fourth studio album from Alanis Morissette winds up being a lack luster effort from the Queen of Ultra Pissed off Chicks…now, I am no giant Alanis fan, in fact this was a joint purchase by my better half and myself…I dug the shit out of Jagged Little Pill back in 95, her debut album…Hey, the pissed of chick thing turns me on, what can I say….but I kinda of lost sight after that…her next two albums, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and an MTV Unplugged disc where way off from what I expected after Pill…but here last album, Under Rug Swept kicked a lot of ass…I played the shit out of that record…so I was kinda of quasi-interested in this release…turns out, I should have left it on the rack…So-Called Chaos is a 10 track disc that just misses the mark….much of it sounds like the same old Alanis but just not as good…the tracks are just so-so musically and lyrically…songs like “Doth I Protest Too Much” , “So-Called Chaos”, “Spineless” and “Everything” are classic Morissette…but I have already been down that road…I want something kind of different…I dug the track “Knees of My Bees” and its weird Indian musical influence in the back ground…and the opening track “Eight Easy Steps” packs a nice opening punch, but overall, I’ll stick with my Jagged Pill and Under Rug Swept discs from Ms. Morissette.
