The Wallflowers - Bringing Down The Horse

My Thoughts: (Reviewed by O. Anderson)

A seemingly "oldie" ('96), but definitely goodie. The Wallflowers is a band reminiscent of Bob Dylan, pheasibly because of Jake Dylan, the son of Bob, who performs lead vocals for the band. But that's not the point. This band is really awesome. Their style ranges from slow ballads to hard rock. During one song, you may feel compelled to headband, while during the next you may want to cry, or maybe even kill yourself ("Bleeders"). Some notable songs may be their first single from the album, "One Headlight", "Sixth Avenue Heartache", which features the lead vocalist from the Counting Crows, and "Invisible City". In this album, skills of every dimension are experienced. I would say that Jake has a more capable range of vocals than his father, but has clearly been influenced by the incredible song writing that his contemporary brought to the table. His lyrics are really amazing, and you can see this in any of their songs. The guitars and drums are just awesome, as well. Every aspect of this album is great. I can't seem to find one flaw of this album, none at all. If you're a rock fan, pick this up.
