The Gat 7even Riding Club of Lisbon, CT

     The Gat 7even Riding Club (pronounced – Gat Seven) is basically a group of motorcycle enthusiasts from different towns and different walks of life that get together at the 7-11 on Rt. 12 in Lisbon, CT to shoot the breeze, drink lots of coffee, and most of all… ride and have fun.

     Many of us that meet at The 7 have been riding together for years, while others have only recently stopped by for the first time.  Most started the same way, a chance stop for gas while out riding, a nod of the head to acknowledge the fellow riders hanging out, and soon we found ourselves stopping by for coffee regularly.

     The roots of this group can be traced back for more than a decade; originally a few local Lisbon & Jewett City riders would meet up at an old gas station on Rt. 12 in Lisbon.  The group grew organically year after year as more and more riders gathered together to socialize and ride. As years passed the old gas station first changed to Dandy Doughnuts, and years later again to Dunkin Doughnuts, it was at that time the crew was invited by Rafiq, the franchise owner of the 7 Eleven across the street, to make his place - their place... that's when the crew became the Gat 7 Riding Club.

     As a club, quite a few members meet at The 7 almost daily, not only to socialize and ride, but also to plan, schedule, and organize rides, tours, and events. Some of the experienced riders have stepped up and taken on the role of Ride Captain, while others concentrate on club organization tasks like developing this web site that we use to disseminate information to members and to promote the club.   The impromptu rides of the past have become scheduled weekly events. Nowadays, weather permitting, riders usually have a choice of multiple group rides almost every Sunday, various scheduled events and rides during the week, and the opportunity help plan and  participate in  multi-day tours to a variety of destinations planned throughout the riding season.

We are quite a diverse group, young and old from all walks of life.  
But what we have in common is a passion for riding and a desire to live life to the fullest.
The club gives us the opportunity to share that passion with our closest of friends and our families.
