 | Revolutionary Campaigns: In 1792 the 1er Bn, served with Luckner's army and was distinguished at the capture of Bavay, the battalion then went into the Metz garrison. It was transferred to l'Armee du Rhin under the command of Custine in 1793, where it performed the duty of the garrison of the City of Mainz. After the City surrendered, they went to form the "Colonne Mayencaise" and spent the remainder of the year operating in the Vendee. 1794 saw the battalion still operating in the Vendee but now under the title of l'Armee de l'Ouest. It was not affected by the first amalgamation however, the second amalgamation (21 December 1796) saw it incorporated into the 70eme Demi-Brigade-de-Ligne.
