Places to Stay Near the Stanford Park Hotel

Here's a list of a few hotels we checked out and think are nice; we also made special arrangements at some of them. We recommend you make reservations as soon as possible to make sure you get a room at a good rate.

We have a block of rooms set aside here, the site of the wedding. This is a beautiful hotel, and they've given us a really good price on the rooms, $119/night for a courtyard room and $129/night for a junior suite. This is definitely our first recommendation for a place to stay if it's in your price range. For reservations, you can go to their website, or call 800.368.2468. If the Stanford Park sells out, and you want a good, moderately-priced hotel very close to the Stanford Park, this is a good place to go. It's right across the street from the Stanford Park, and has very nice (if a bit generic-style) accommodations. We've arranged a special group rate of $119/night. This is a hotel right in downtown Palo Alto, about a mile from the Stanford Park. It has a cool Spanish-style lobby with high ceilings. The rooms are a little small, but they're nice, and the location is great - there's lots of bookstores, cafes, and so on within walking distance. If you're willing to take a European-style room (the bathroom is shared and down the hall), you can get a room for $65/night, a steal for the area! Or, you can get a room with a private bath for $125/night. For reservations, call 650.323.5101 and tell them you're with the Friedman/Rost wedding.

This is a neat little hotel with a lot of character. The rooms are well-kept and clean, and there's a large, shared kitchen and a sunny outdoor courtyard. It's on California Avenue, which is another good area of Palo Alto to stay (plenty of cafes and such within walking distance)- about 2 miles from the Stanford Park Hotel. The rooms are $80-$95/night. We couldn't get a block of rooms here, so you'll probably want to call right away for a reservation if you'd like to stay here: 650.322.7666
