| OUR REV APOSTOLATE was founded on February 17, 1996, to help convince every married Roman Catholic priest to reclaim the title REVEREND as well as to spread the Good News that married priests are worthy of respect , and deserve justice and ministry in the Church. * Since 1951 the official Church has admitted former non-Catholic married pastors to full priestly ministry, while denying the reality of the married priesthood of tens of thousands of its own. IS THIS FAIR ? * According to Matthew 19:11-12 and I Corinthians 7:7, celibacy is a freely given gift from God, and therefore cannot be imposed by a human law, not even by church law. And I Cor.9:5 speaks of a divine right to marry which the official Church cannot take away, and therefore,the law of MANDATORY celibacy of the year 1139 has been invalid all along. Furthermore, according to St. Paul in I Timothy 4:1-4 prohibition of marriage is false asceticism. * LAICIZATION or the reductioin of a priest to the status of a layman, violates the Council of Trent definition in Session 23, Ch. 4, Can. 4: "If anyone says that a validly ordained priest can again be converted into a layman, let him be anathematized or condemned." This is reiterated in the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, N. 1583.WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS AN ACUTE SHORTAGE OF CELIBATE PRIESTS, OPTIONAL CELIBACY IS THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE |
