Paul McCartney, Pizza and Fairy Tales -
Disc One, Vigotone, 2000
The sound quality here varies a bit, but overall it's pretty good.
This collection covers the worst era of McCartney's career to date, which
invariably begs the question: Why do I want to listen to the demo versions
of shitty songs? The answer is: you don't. The best songs here have been
released in better versions either as b-sides or album tracks. The best
thing about the disc is the inclusion of 'Once Upon A Long Ago' and 'PS
Love Me Do,' two hard-to-find tracks from the late 80s. Although as I listened
to them again, I began to wonder why I was so eager to hear them again.
Definitely a rough period in the McCartney legacy.
