Come Back, Brian, Brian Wilson
Vigotone VIGO 125

This bootleg compiles some demos and outtakes from Brian's work in the late 80s. The material culled from his first solo release 'Brian Wilson,' is mildly interesting, however the album versions obviously are far more listenable.

The rest of the tracks come from the aborted 'Sweet Insanity' album that Brian recorded with Dr. Eugene Landy's input at the end of the 80s. To be blunt, it's an embarrassing collection of bullshit that was thankfully never released. To give you an indication of how bad this stuff really is, try to imagine this for a moment: "Smart Girls" is a rap song that starts with the line, "My name is Brian and I'm the man." Mind boggling, really.

And if the music isn't bad enough for you, Vigotone goes a step further, presenting it here in extremely poor sound quality that will bring back memories of 10th generation cassette bootlegs. My suggestion is to just stick with the commercial release, "Brian Wilson," on Warner Brothers. It was recently released with about 3 or 4 bonus tracks and that's all you'll ever need.
