Which religion (if any) is right?

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved - Acts 4:12

I believe that the chief reason (there are others as well) to believe in Christianity over any other religion is found in the person of Jesus Christ, his teachings and his resurrection.

The apostle Paul states this in I Corinthians 15:14........

"And if Christ be not risen, then [is] our preaching vain, and your faith [is] also vain." - I Corinthians 15:14

Many people say the Christ was merely a good teacher. The problem with this statement is that Christ taught that he was God..

"I and my Father are one." - John 10:30

"Jesus said unto them, 'Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am'" - John 8:58

Therefore Christ couldn't have merely been a good teacher, he was either God or he wasn't. If he wasn't then there he either knew he wasn't God (making him a liar) or didn't know he was God (making him a lunatic).

So this means that there are three possibilities as to who Jesus is:

The wisdom of his teachings proves he not a lunatic. His silence in front of his accusers in his trial proves that he wasn't a liar because no one willingly dies for a lie! This leaves only one conclusion........that he is indeed God.

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:5-11

The apostles, were the men who were closest to Jesus, so we can derive great insight by observing them. When Christ was taken by the Romans, the apostles fled. After Christ's resurrection, they all ended up giving their lives for the gospel truth of Christ! What a transformation! All of them were martyred except for John who was exiled to the isle of Patmos. These men were obviously convinced that Jesus was indeed God in the flesh according to Philippians 2:5-11:

"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty." - II Peter 1:16

"To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:" - Acts 1:3

"This Jesus of Nazareth, without money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammed, and Napoleon; without science and learning, He shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of schools, He spoke such words of life as were never spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of orator or poet; without writing a single line, He set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, learned volumes, works of art, and songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times" - Philip Schaff, The Person of Christ (American Tract Society, 1913)
