Now playing: An adaptation of "Necromancer" from the "Caress of Steel" Album by Ken Roberts.

11/19/2000 / Geddy Lee appeared on VH-1's Rock Show mainly to promote his new album. During his interview he made some revealing comments about the future. He says RUSH is going to start working on writing together at the beginning of 2001 and if an album comes out of it fans can expect another tour as well as a new release. He was promoting his new Solo Album "My Favorite Headache." Geddy is quoted as saying that the title was derived from a phrase used by the Father of co-collaborator Ben Mink and is described as "The thing that you have, or you love to do, or you need to do that you love but it pains you at the same time, you know that,... the ying and yang that's all thrown in to that phrase spells volumes for me." The single from the album sounds pretty good so check it out, on sale now.

11/14/2000 / Geddy Lee released his first solo album entitled "My Favorite Headache." Geddy played Bass Guitars, Keyboards, and of course sang on the new release. He also played Piano, Percussion, Guitar and lended his Programming expertese to the project. He was credited for Whining as well. Geddy also utilized the talents of Soundgarden Drummer MATT CAMERON whacking the skins and BEN MINK on Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Violins, Violas, and Programming. Ben is also credited for Wheezing on the new release.

Geddy also acquired some help from these additional musicians: JEREMY TAGGART played the Drums on "Home On The Strange" and JOHN FRIESEN layed down some Cello tracks for "Working at Perfekt". ED WILSON provided some additional programming and CHRIS STRINGER added some of his Percussion talents. WAYLON WALL played a very tastey Steel Guitar part on the track "Window", PAPPY ROSEN slipped in some backward Vocals on "Slipping" and DUKE, the Dog is also given recognition on the album although, I did not catch his performance on the first listening. Moral support is what DUKE may have offered rather than a specific musical contribution.

The result is a snappy, some what RUSH like project with a hint of pop and a touch of 21st Century Grunge which seems to be ever so popular these days. By no means is this a clone of the Power Trio, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart are irreplaceable. Although, the musicianship hired for this gig is worthy of aclaim, don't expect this album to subdue your jones for a fix of a long over due dose of The RUSH stimuli. Think of this a heavily cut version of the RUSHian "medication".

9/31/2000 / Early in September, Neil Peart got married to Carrie Nuttall, a photographer from California. The wedding took place in Southern California in a small, private ceremony. She is his second wife; his first wife died of cancer in 1998.
