Another Time, Another Place: The Hunt For Jake Grey Part Nine
By The Begining of Chapter 9 on Sunday, June 10, 2001 - 03:00 pm: |
Previously on LICC2;
Redding: What the hell just happened?
Jackson: I'm not sure but unless everyone else is hearing that
music too, I think you should quarantine me. I think I caught
what my original and his girlfriend have.
Kiehart: Man this bad. Captain Redding, I'd like permission to
transport to the TerrSec base. They may need my help.
Redding: Good luck Mr. Kiehart. Rita, is Greymoran conscious yet?
Rita: Negative Captain.
Redding: Well then it falls on me. As of right now I'm abandoning
Directive omega for the blue Fugates, in order to chase TerrSec,
and get the Archangel back.
Keith: But what about TerrSec here? What about the virus, Captain
Tacoman? I-
Rita: Keith, we have to get that ship back. We'll need all the
help we can get finding Grey. That was our primary mission
remember?
Durgin: I just hope we can find her before it's too late.
Redding: We'll do our best Marty. We have to.
The science vessel Fort Collins flew through an unexplored area
of space. Commander Jakod Grey did his daily diagnostics on all
systems, much to Captain Johnston's dismay. It bothered him that
Lt. Cmndr. Grey had such a lack of faith in the reliability of
their equipment, but it was hard to be angry at such an eternal
optomist. "Captain," one of the bridge crew said.
"I'm detecting a strange anomoly about a thousand kilometers
off port." The viewscreen shifts to see a purple swirl fill
the otherwise black area of space. A ship comes out. "That's
a Defiant-class ship sir!" Grey shouted. "I know that
Jakob! Hail them, find out-" But before the captain can
finish his order, phaser fire bursts from the Archangel, as her
TerrSec crew determines the ship to be a sigfnificant threat.
The TerrSec commander who took charge of the ship after the other
XDCA vessel, the Revanche had returned, smiled as the Archangel's
weaponry tore into the defenseless science vessel like a hot
knife through butter. "Excellent work gentleman. Let's
continue onward. We may lose our home universe to the LICC, but
with this ship we can start over right here."
A bloodied hand raises through the smoke filling the bridge. By
sheer force of luck, Jakob Grey is alive. He coughs and visually
scans for other signs of life. He sees none. Suddenly, the
viewscreen fizzles off. But before it dies, he catches the brief
glimpse, of another puprle swirl appearing. A Klingon cruiser
this time. "Aw darn." he mutters, and braces for what
he fears will happen next.
By Brian Webber on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 02:54 pm: |
Oakensheild: I read one
life sign on that damaged ship sir.
Redding: Great. They already learned how to work her weapons
systems. Good thing she doesn't have a cloaking device.
Rita: Should we stop and help the guy? That looks like a science
vessel to me.
Redding: You sure?
Keith: We've spent a lot of time on science vessels Captain. I
agree with Rita. That is most likely a sicence ship.
Redding: Allright. Do any of you know how to operate a
transporter? I'd rather not send Mac. It might be a TerrSec trap,
and she's too small to fight back.
Keith: I'll go sir.
Redding: Good. Anyone else?
By Hudzen on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 05:25 pm: |
I will go. I am fairly certain I will be able to handle any possible traps TerrSec might have.
By Brian Webber on Sunday, June 17, 2001 - 06:07 pm: |
Redding: Good luck.
Keith and Hudzen walk towards the turbolift. As they enter, Keith
sighs heavily.
Hudzen turns to ask what is wrong, but Keith, having seemd to
anticipate the question, speaks up first.
Keith: I think Rita's hiding something. Something big.
Hudzen: You think she's being unfaithful?
Keith looks at Hudzen with angry eyes.
Keith: What? No! It's just, she's been throwing up a bit lately.
She seems distant somehow, more contemplative than usual. I've
known Rita for many years. She's the kind of person who doesn't
look before she leaps. In fact we've had some arguments about
that. But now she just seems, well overly cautious. Towards me as
well. Like she's protecting us from something only she knows
about.
Kieth shrugs.
Keith: Ah, I'm sorry I bothered you. Let's just do this.
The two enter the transporter area, the only one on the ship as
Keith remembers, and the two stand at the console. Keith operates
the swithces while Hudzen stands guard. The lights of the
transporter beam shimmer, and widen until a person appears. A
man, human, with a broken leg, sobbing, and apparently praying.
He looks up to look at Keith and Hudzen. Keith gasps, and Hudzen
raises his rifle to fire.
By Hudzen on Monday, June 18, 2001 - 12:42 am: |
Grey
Hudzen makes sure that his weapon is sure that the setting is
on kill and prepares to fire. He hesitates.
Keith: Hudzen, wait.
He had noticed it too. There was something different about
Grey. He wasn't the madman that Hudzen had expected. In fact, he
seemed to be an entirely different person. Hudzen set the rifle
to stun and fired. Grey slumped onto the pad. Hudzen looked back
at Keith.
Hudzen to Captain Redding, the lone survivor seems to be Jacob
Grey.
By Lt Commander Sorik on Monday, June 18, 2001 - 01:30 am: |
I believe I should meet the Chief Engineer of this vessel, so we may work together.
By Jackson Dupree, fully recovered on Monday, June 18, 2001 - 03:47 pm: |
Jackson, who's been
sedated for the duration of the Ebonics Virus, wakes up
Huh? where am I? Oh.. aboard the Revanache...
Am I allowed to go the bridge, Doctor?
By Jackson Dupree on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 05:04 pm: |
Jackson, allowed to go
to the bridge, heads towards the bridge. Along the way, he
encounters a uniformed chicken. Jackson looks suprised, but moves
on. He arrives on the bridge and says
Jackson Dupree, reporting for duty. By the way, did you know you
had a chicken on board?
Hey, what's this?
with that, Jackson picks up a scpipt, a creature from the LICC
universe
And how did you get here?
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 08:18 pm: |
Redding: That's Mac, our
Chief Engineer.
Rita: Good to see you've recovered Jackson.
Keith: Yeah. We're going to need all the help we can get. This
has been a weird day. Hudzen, would you take Jackson to meet our
prisoner?
Redding: hey, I'm Captain here Mr. Yeager. I give the orders
until Greymoran wakes up. I want first crack at Grey, if that's
who we really have on board. Marty?
Durgin: Yes sir?
Redding: Come with me. Haer'Dalis, you have the helm.
Haer'Dalis: Yes Captain.
By Lt Commander Sorik on Thursday, June 21, 2001 - 01:32 am: |
Greetings, Mac.
Sorik is a little surprised, but it does not last long, given
his belief in Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. Why
shouldn't a chicken be Chief Engineer on a starship?
By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, June 21, 2001 - 08:49 am: |
Ok... Where do you want me to be? Should I just stand around, or should I take a console?
By Brian Webber on Thursday, June 21, 2001 - 08:59 pm: |
Redding: Hmm. What
position did you hold on the Archangel?
Keith: He was second officer, secondary science officer, and
co-tactical along with Hudzen.
Redding: Hmm. Well, take Marty's chair for now.
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 - 08:09 am: |
Jakob Grey was afraid.
Very afraid. He'd seen androids before of course. Well, one
android. In a picture of the bridge crew of the Enterprise-D. But
he'd never seen an armored hulk like the one who shot him. And
the unifrom that human was wearing. He'd never seen anything like
it before. And what were they doing on a Klingon ship? And why
did they react the way they did?
The door opened, and Jerry Redding and Martin Durgin walked into
the dentention area, very small, but big enough for the three of
them.
By Jackson Dupree on Wednesday, June 27, 2001 - 08:53 am: |
Jackson examines the
science sensors
Hmm.. not much left to that ship.. Looks like most of the
computer core survived, though... I think we could get most of
the information from it if we wanted...
By Brian Webber on Saturday, July 07, 2001 - 05:46 pm: |
Grey was a little scared,
but he stood tall in front of Redding and Durgin.
Durgin: Allright. You can start by telling us your name.
Grey2: Lieutenant Commander Jakob Grey.
Redding: What was your ship doing out here Commander?
Grey2: Nebula analysis. Pretty routine really. Nobody on the ship
seemed to care though. I thought it was rather beautiful mysel-
Durgin: Not important Mr. Grey. We've asked all the questions we
wished to ask.
Grey2: Already? But-
Redding: Now, we're going to take you to medlab. Come with us
please Mr. Grey.
By Plot Complication on Friday, July 20, 2001 - 12:41 am: |
EMH MKIII: Hmm.
Redding: Hmm? What is that supposed to mean?
Mk3: Simple Captain. This is Jake Grey in the classic sense.
However, this man here does not have any of the scars or other
distinguishing characteristics of the one we know. Like here. Our
Jake Grey fell ill with a Rhinovirus that left a permanent scar
like mark on his kidneys. This Jake Grey does not have that.
Redding: So?
Mk3: The scar our Jake Grey had was irremovable. And not easy to
hide. Near impossible even.
Reding: So in our midst we have a mirror of our mortal enemy. Oh
man, I'd better tell Greymoran when he wakes up. Avoid a
potential disaster.
-
At the same time, the Archangel, under command of the TerrSec
crew, has chosen a new target. An out of the way agricultural
colony. No defenses, hudreds of civillians.
By Hudzen on Friday, July 20, 2001 - 01:25 am: |
So, a mirror Jakob Grey. He may somehow be useful against our Grey.
By Brian Webber on Friday, July 20, 2001 - 11:41 am: |
Redding shook his head. He started to speak but Keith realized where he was going. "It probably would be best not to tell this Grey about the other. He just lost his ship and his crew, he's in a strange place, with starnge people. I think telling him about his counterpart would totally break him. I think we should just keep him safe here in sickbay for awhile. Does the EMH have a psychological treatment program?" Redding nods. "Yes, but unfortuneately it has a few bugs." Keith strokes his chin toguhtfully. "Carrie could fix it easy. You want her to try?" "Good idea Mr. Yeager. Carrie?" "Yeah Jerry?" Redding gives Carrie to order to follow through with Keith's suggestion.
By Hudzen on Saturday, July 21, 2001 - 12:31 am: |
"Actually Captain, it would be us who are in a strange place. We have to find the Archangel. That should be our first priority.
By Brian Webber on Saturday, July 21, 2001 - 12:21 pm: |
Redding: Hudzen, I meant our ship is strange to him. he's probably never been aboard a Klingon vessel, let alone one refitted for extradimensional use. Odds are this guy doesn't even know dimensional travel exists. And yes, we should find the Archangel. I'm not denying that. We're bringing this Grey with us, and I want him to be psychologically prepared for some of the things he's going to run across."
By Lt Commander Sorik on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 02:57 am: |
Sorik has enetered the
room, and hears the discussion
Perhaps I could apply a Vulcan mind meld to help him?
By Brian Webber on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 12:59 pm: |
Redding nods. "Oh, and I don't think we were formaly introduced. I'm Captain Jerry Redding. I don't think I caught your name, Commander."
By Lt Commander Sorik on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 01:41 pm: |
My name is Sorik and
he lets forth a volley of sounds which would be very difficult
for a human to utter.
He walks up to Grey.
Do not be alarmed. I am a Vulcan. I do not know if you are aware
of us where you come from, but I can help.
He places a hand on the side of Grey's face.
My mind to your mind, your thoughts to my thoughts... In the
future, you will encounter things you may find disturbing... you
must keep a calm mental state during these times... control, you
must learn control...
Grey slips into unconsciousness slowly, muttering an answer,
or a repeat, of Sorik's words. Once he has slumped back down
Sorik removes his hand.
My procedure worked, to my knowledge, and once he has awakened he
should be more sedate than he would normally be.
By The Only Two Archangel Fans in the Multiverse on Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 09:48 pm: |
When are they gonna get the Archangel back??
By Jackson Dupree on Monday, July 23, 2001 - 08:22 am: |
Jackson is checking
sensors, trying to get an idea of where they are and what's going
on in the universe
Hmm...
Jackson Dupree to Captain Redding, I've located the Archangel..
It's close to a colony of some sort...
By Brian Webber on Monday, July 23, 2001 - 08:43 am: |
Redding hears this and walks up to Sorik. "Keep working with him. Find a way to break the whole other Grey thing to him in a way that won't hurt him. Hudzen, Mr. Yeager, come with me. We're going to the bridge. Jackson thinks he's found the Archangel. Redding to bridge. Mrs. Yeager, plot a course for the Archangel, maximum warp." "Aye sir," Rita says, not even trying to hide the excitement in her voice.
By Lt Commander Sorik on Monday, July 23, 2001 - 05:18 pm: |
I will attempt to, Captain, although it will not be easy. Perhaps the best way to deal with it would be to convince him it is a good thing he did not turn out that way. That seemd to be the way that humans are conforted, by making themselves look better than others. I hope his human ego isn't inflated too much by his knowledge that he has turned out better even than other versions of himself.
By Brian Webber on Monday, July 23, 2001 - 06:30 pm: |
Redding: Well, whatever you think is best Commander.
By Hudzen on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 - 12:11 am: |
Captain, would you like me to take Tactical or would your own officer be sufficient or would you prefer for me to do something else?
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 - 07:19 pm: |
Redding stops to think about this. "Tell you what Hudzen. We'll split into shifts. A lot of the people on this ship are tired and in desperate need of rest. You, Carrie, and the Doc can go on indefinatley, and our science officer has incredible stamina." He stops talking and rubs his eyes. They are bloodshot and watery. "You can work out the details with Marty. I need some sleep. Excuse me."
By Hudzen on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 - 11:53 pm: |
Hudzen looked over at
Keith.
Are you going to accompany me to the bridge or will you get some
rest as well?
By Lt Commander Sorik on Friday, July 27, 2001 - 04:00 pm: |
The alternative Grey
re-awakens.
"Am I still here?" he asks, a disappointed but
resigned tone in his voice.
I will assume that question was rhetorical. Now, what I am about
to say may startle you, but you must let me finish. Do you know
of the so-called parallel universe or alternative dimension
theory?
Grey nods, and Sorik proceeds.
Well, as I assume you know, according to this theory every
person, including yourself, has a counterpart in other
dimensions, a version of themselves where they made a different
decision at some point in their lives. Well, it is all true. I am
a member of the Extra-dimensional Control Agency. This is the
part which may alarm you. In another dimension exists a quite
different version of yourself. This one is a dangerous madman.
You should consider yourself fortunate you did not turn out the
same way as he.
Grey looks shocked. "Why are you telling me
this?" he asks.
Because he once was a member of the XDCA. My captain is trying to
hunt him down and bring him to justice for the crimes he has
committed.
Grey nods, still unsure, and feeling like he is in a strange
dream.
In case you are wondering, none of us believe you to be like he
is. We have seen many dimensions, and know that not all versions
of the same person are identical. If you'll excuse me, I shall be
on the bridge.
He then speaks quietly to the EMH. Doctor, call me when
you need a Vulcan around here.
"Will do."
Mr Hudzen?
Sorik leaves sickbay with Hudzen and walks through the
retrofitted Klingon vessel to the bridge. The two of them enter.
Mr Dupree, how long will it be before we reach the Archangel?
By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, July 28, 2001 - 05:10 pm: |
Looks like we'll get to
it in about ten minutes. In fact, I think I can get a visual...
Jackson presses a few buttons, and the viewscreen shows the
Archangel about to attack a small colony
We're not within weapons range yet, though...
By Brian Webber on Saturday, July 28, 2001 - 06:02 pm: |
Greymoran awakens in sick bay. He's always had trouble with suspended animation. Some called it being alergic, although that wasn't entirely accurate. But it didn't matter. What mattered was he was in a strange place. A med-lab, but not like the one on the Archangel. The design looked almost Klingon in nature. He rolls out of the bed, and sees Sorik talking to someone. He can't make out his face.
By Hudzen on Monday, July 30, 2001 - 03:11 pm: |
Hudzen looked over at
Jackson.
Is the cloak engaged?
By Jackson Dupree on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 - 05:44 pm: |
Jackson rechecks his
controls
Affirmative. Weapons and shields at the ready too..
By Lt Commander Sorik on Wednesday, August 01, 2001 - 03:15 pm: |
I'll return to sickbay
and see how the captain is doing.
The Vulcan leaves the bridge and walks down to sickbay. He
enters to find his wizardly Captain awake.
Greetings, Captain. It is good to see you alive. We are aboard
the Revanche, and almost within weapons range of the Archangel.
This man over there (indicating Grey) is one Lieutenant
Commander Jakob Grey, a dimensional counterpart of the one we are
pursuing. I have explained it all to him. Captain Greymoran, meet
Lieutenant Commander Jakob Grey. Lieutenant Commander Jakob Grey,
meet Captain Greymoran.
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, August 01, 2001 - 09:05 pm: |
Greymoran shakes his head. He's still woozy, but he seems to register what Sorik said. "The Archangel? Was, was she stolen? Of course. Dumb wizard. OK. Um, I just need some stims. I'll be OK."
By Hudzen on Tuesday, August 07, 2001 - 10:52 pm: |
Hudzen reads the
sensor readings as they scroll across the tactical console.
The Archangel has begun its attack on the colony. I estimate
eight minutes before every structure in the colony is leveled.
By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 10:47 am: |
You know.. I wonder if
TerrSec changed the security codes for the Archangel... If they
havn't, we could use them to lower the shields...burn out the
weapons.. ect, ect...
It worked for the Enterprise when they were against Kahn...
By Lt Commander Sorik on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 02:40 pm: |
The EMH applies the
stimulants to Greymoran.
Captain, let us go up to the bridge.
Sorik and Greymoran leave sickbay and head up to the bridge,
where they are filled in.
Yes, that would be a logical option.
By Hudzen on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 04:24 pm: |
Searching, the codes to order the Archangel to lower shields and weapons was 478939 before she was taken by TerrSec. ETA to intercept?
By Brian Webber on Friday, August 10, 2001 - 09:22 pm: |
Greymoran and Sorik step on the bridge just as Hudzen says this. Durgin and Oakenshield salute him. Rita, Keith, and Jackson smile, but stay focused on their tasks. Hudzen simply gives an approving nod. Greymoran takes in a deep breath. "I'm afraid that won't work. After Grey turned, Carrie feared that Grey would gain access to all codes. Seing as he's had opurtunites to use both the Archangels' and the Revanche's codes, we can assume he either didn't get either of them, or simply relishes the challenege. Either way, it doesn't matter. What does is that Carrie disabled the external activation codes. And her only contignecy plan for in case the ship was hijacked, sadly, would only work if she was still on it. We'll have to do this the old fashioned way. Punch a hole in the sheilds, and hope the transporter beam can get through before they get them back up. I'll need a team to asemble in the transporter room. I'll lead, and let Captain Redding handle the bridge. Any volunteers?" Haer'Dalis unsheathes his swords, both of which are oddly colored, but glow with magical energy. "I will go Wizard."
By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, August 11, 2001 - 04:08 pm: |
Intercept time in 4.6
minutes.
I'll go with you, Captain. It's our ship, and it's our job to
take it back.
Jackson presses a button on his console, and a panel beside
him opens. Inside is a really large phaser rifle. He picks it up
and gets it ready for useage
Ready when you are.
By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, August 11, 2001 - 04:16 pm: |
Now, as for getting
aboard the Archangel...
Jackson pulls up a schematic of the ship and combines it with
current sensor information
It looks like the ship is crawling with TerrSec personnel, but
that could just be a sensor shadow of some sort. We need to find
a spot that they would ignore or not go into all that often.
Perhaps a cargo bay or a Jeffries tube junction or something like
that... Any suggestions?
By Brian Webber on Saturday, August 11, 2001 - 04:39 pm: |
Greymoran smiles. "I bet Ahz has an idea. Where is he anyway?"
By Lt Commander Sorik on Sunday, August 12, 2001 - 05:00 am: |
I will accompany you, Captain. My ability with the Vulcan neck-pinch will be useful if I can get close enough to one of the invaders.
By Jackson Dupree on Sunday, August 12, 2001 - 07:20 pm: |
Ahz? Don't think I've
seen him for a while...But you know how he is, always turning up
unexpectidly
and when we need him...
By Hudzen on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 - 01:04 am: |
Being the chief of security of the Archangel it would make sense that I go.
By Brian Webber on Wednesday, August 15, 2001 - 07:16 pm: |
Greymoran nods. "OK. So, Hudzen, Jackson, Haer'Dalis, myself, and Sorik. There are only five pads in the transporter room, and there's only one transporter on this damned ship. If Ahz wants to join us, he'll have to use his portal. Commander Durgin, if Ahz appears, tell him where we've gone. We'll wait in the transporter room until you've got a hole in the Archangel's sheilds. Keith, come with us. You'll need to operate the transporter." Keith bolts out of his seat. "Aye sir." He kisses Rita on the cheek and runs to join the group in the turbolift.
By Jackson Dupree on Friday, August 17, 2001 - 08:03 am: |
Jackson picks up his
weapon and enters the Turbolift.
Ok.. have we decided where we're going to transport to? From what
I can tell, cargo bay 2 looks virtually ignorned... and for some
reason, the corridor leading to Ahz's lab is empty...
By Hudzen on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 - 08:13 pm: |
That's not much of a surprise. Ahz probably has some pretty painful or perhaps just bizarre security measures. The Revanche seems to be slowing. We're most likely entering weapons range.
By Lt Commander Sorik on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 02:50 pm: |
Perhaps Ahz is still on the Archangel, or even in the LICC universe.
By Jackson Dupree, talking to himself on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 08:19 pm: |
Perhaps, Sorik, Perhaps.
With Ahz, you never know.
With that, the away team reaches the transporter room and wait
to go over to the Archangel. Meanwhile, on the bridge, a
blueshirt receives an interesting signal from the
interdimensional communicator.
Tacoman: Yes, is Jackson Dupree or Greymoran avaliable?
Engign: They're still on the ship. Just a second.
The ensign contacts Jackson, who activates his communicator
Jackson: Hey, Taco. What's going on with the LICC?
Tacoman: Well, we're just about to have a party, and I wanted to
see if you and the rest of your crew
would like to join us.
Jackson: Well, under normal circumstances, we would, but we have
to take back the Archangel from
Terrsec...
Tacoman: Ok. Good luck, my friend. Say hi to Greymoran for me.
Jackson: Well, he's right here beside me, and we're just about to
transport to the ship.
Greymoran: Hello son, how are things over there?
Tacoman: Going great, father. I gotta go get things ready for the
party. Tacoman out.
Jackson: Sounds like things are going pretty good over there...
By Boarding... on Monday, September 03, 2001 - 12:17 am: |
The Revanche decloaks,
quickly raises shields, and opens fire on the Archangel. The
Defiant-class vessel, taken by surprise quickly has a hole
punched through its shields. On the Revanche, the boarding party
stands in the transporter room.
Greymoran: Energize
The team fades and rematerializes in the corridor outside
Ahz's lab. Greymoran, Keith, Hudzen, Jackson, Haer'Dalis, and
Sorik survey their surroundings before starting down the hall.
By Brian Webber on Monday, September 03, 2001 - 04:16 pm: |
Greymoran closes his eyes
and says a quiet chant. Suddenly everyone feels more agile.
"Defensive harmony spell. Now we'll all fight with equal
skill. Watch yourselves now. Sorik, Jackson, come with me. We're
going to the bridge. Hudzen, Haer'Dalis, go to engineering. Good
luck."
-
Back aboard the Revanche, a still woozy Jakob Grey wanders onto
the bridge. Martin Durgin nervously nods at him. Grey sighs. At
least they didn't shoot him on sight. He walks over to Rita.
"So, um, what's it like piloting a Klingon vessel."
Rita shrugs. "Handles like a brick, but if anyone can get a
good maneuver out of her, it's me." She smiles. "And
don't worry lieutenant. I've never met the other Grey personally,
so my vision isn't as blurred as the others." Jakob nods,
and smiles. He still feels akward, but at least he's no longer
scared.
By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, September 06, 2001 - 03:06 pm: |
I hope that the party on
the Spidership is going well...
Father, what do you think of this alternate Jakob Grey?
Watch out!
A couple of TerrSec officers exit a room and give the away
team a suprised look. Jackson shoots them before they have a
chance to alert the bridge
By Ahz on Thursday, September 06, 2001 - 09:28 pm: |
I wouldn't go much
further. The corridor is boobytraped.
The startled away team turns around. Ahz gives them a peculiar
look.
I was wondering when you were going to show up. I just managed to
access the Archangel's weapons array and disable it without
tripping the internal sensors. In any case, I have a much faster
way to the Bridge. Most of the agents are located there.
Ahz begins typing on his computer and a hole opens in the
ceiling. A door drops out of the hole and stands in the middle of
the corridor. Ahz produces a silver key and unlocks the door.
When he swings it open, the Bridge is visible on the other side.
After you.
By Jackson Dupree on Friday, September 07, 2001 - 10:41 am: |
Jackson activates his
suit's cloaking device, but only uses it on his helmet. He peeks
through the door to check out the situation.
It looks like there are currently six TerrSec officers on the
bridge right now. I could stun them from here... just stick my
gun through the door and fire at wide stun...

Greymoran raises a hand and stops Jackson. Ahz, be ready to close the door on my signal. He steps back, closes his eyes, and begins a small chant. A wind seems to come out of nowhere causing his cloak and robe to billow. "Vita, mortis, karaem!" A green globular looking object that appears to be made of gas flies through the door. "Ahz! Shut it now!"
By Hudzen on Friday, September 07, 2001 - 10:56 pm: |
A less than startled
Hudzen looks up as red alert klaxons light up. The Computer
speaks up.
Computer: Intruder Alert, intruder alert.
Hudzen: Well, it seems that they know we're here.
Three TerrSec guards run down toward the team with guns
firing. Hudzen hits two and Keith stuns the third with a shot to
his chest.
There are undoubtedly more where they came from. You six go to
the bridge, I'll secure Engineering, unless someone would like to
assist.
i{With that, he makes his way to the down to the ship's engine
room as the Archangel shakes from another of the Revanche's
torpedoes.}
By Lt Commander Sorik on Saturday, September 08, 2001 - 10:35 am: |
As Sorik runs, two
TerrSec guards approach him. They fire, but Sorik, with his
Vulcan reflexes, manages to dodge them. He pulls the gun out of
the hands of one of them, as the second fires, just grazing his
arm. He neck-pinches the armed one, but instantly the unarmed one
wrestles the Vulcan to the ground. Again he uses the neck pinch.
He pushes the lifeless guard off him and looks around. However,
the others are elsewhere.
=/\= Sorik to Greymoran. I have incapacitated two of the guards
using the Vulcan neck-pinch. I shall attempt to reach the bridge
so I can access the shipwide transporters. =/\=

Greymoran smiles at the alarm, then reopens the door. The last whisps of the green cloud are sucked out through the vents, and the corpses of suffocated TerrSec bridge crew lay on the ground. Greymoran plugs a small cylinder into a panel on the bridge, and the alarm stops. Carrie's face triumphantly reappears on the screen. The ship is now back under the control of the XDCA.

Sorik sits at the
transporter controls on the bridge
Captain, shall I beam the TerrSec intruders into the brig on the
Revanche, or somewhere else?
By Hudzen on Saturday, September 08, 2001 - 03:21 pm: |
i{Two unconcious TerrSec
officers are thrown out of Enigeering into the near coridoor.
Hudzen types in a few commands and hails the bridge.}
Greymoran, Engineering is secured. No damage to the warp core.
All systems down here are working at around 80.42% efficiency. I
will wait utnil Commander Sorik to takes over.
By Brian Webber on Saturday, September 08, 2001 - 04:41 pm: |
Greymoran takes his
chair, after shoving the TerrSec commander out of the way.
"It feels good to be back. Haer'Dalis, can you go round up
the prisoners and take them to the Revanche?" "No
problem mighty wizard. If they resist my blades shall strike pure
and true." He bows, then exits the bridge through the
turbolift. Through some magics of his own, although far more
limited than Greymoran's abilities, succesfully teleports the
surviving TerrSec members to the uncomfortable brig on the
Revanche.
Shortly after the succesful recapture of the Archangel, Rita
beams over, with Jakob Grey at her side. The crew of the
Archangel reunites with joy, except for Hudzen and Sorik, on the
bridge. Down in engineering, Sorik and Hudzen work on repairing
the systems that the TerSec crews took apart, obviously trying to
learn more about the ship's systems.
Jakob Grey walks around uncomforably. He sees a familiar visual
on the viewscreen. "The Fort Collins! She looks better. But
how-" Greymoran cut him off. "We gave Maxine and Mac
something to do before we took off after the 'Angel. Her sheilds
are up to 30% of what they were before, but the warp drive has
been 'jimmied' as Mac puts it, and while not as fast as before,
she can go up to warp 5. We'll beam you over shortly."
"Thanks." Jakob says, uneasy. Part of him wants to stay
with crew of the Revanche, or even the Archangel, while another
wants to forget about everything he'd learned up to today.
Meanwhile, his evil counterpart, has discovered the whereabouts
of the two XDCA vessels, and is planning an ambush.

Jackson, curious,
peeks in the observation room and sees a few more TerrSec
officers resting and talking. They look up in suprise as Jackson
fires his phaser rifle at heavy stun
Jackson Dupree to the Revanche, beam up a few more TerrSec
officers at my location.
Jackson reenters the bridge and sits down at the science
station. He then checks internal sensors to look for any more
TerrSec people
Sir, the last group I found appears to be the final TerrSec
officers on the ship.
A light blinks on the communications console. Jackson goes to
investigate and looks up with a big smile on his face
Sir, I have some happy news to report from the LICC. Tacoman and
Butrfli have had two healthy children. The names are Fran and
Logan.
It also seems that there was a party celebrating the marriage of
Frangelica and Subway Man...
Perhaps when we get the time, we can visit the LICC to see the
babies... I wonder what that would make me? Uncle, perhaps?
Congratulations, father. You're a grandfather.

Greymoran smiles.
"It's about time he settled down. All that womanizing, like
a James Bond/Captain Kirk hybrid. We'll go see the kids later.
Let's just get everything back in order. Uncle Dupree."
Greymoran grins. "For now send a message to the Spidership.
One sentence. So when are ya gonna get married son? Send."
Carrie's face reappears on the viewscreen. "Done and done.
Congrats, Grandpa." "Don't call me that Carrie."
"Aye sir." The entire crew seems to have lightened up
with this news. Keith laughs. "Ha, looks like this is gonna
be a great day!" The red alert sirens go off as Grey's
monstrosity appears out of nowhere. Keith gulps. "I had to
open my big mouth."
Meanwhile the other Jakob Grey has already beamed to his old
ship, and is able to witness the appearence of the new vessel.
The sight of it almost causes him to freeze with terror. He hails
the Archangel. "Friend of yours?" he asks rhetoricaly,
knowing in his gut the answer is no.
By Brian Webber on Monday, October 08, 2001 - 04:02 pm: |
Captain Redding orders
the Revanche to go into evasive maneuvers. Greymoran tells Rita
to do the same but a blast from Macedonia 1 levels the ship's
sheilds, and knocks it back several kilometers, throwing the crew
from their seats.
Aboard his ship, the other Jakob Grey watches in terror.
"That's me on that behemoth isn't it? I have to do
something." Grey notices his communication system and
torpedo launchers are back on-line. He pushes a series of butons,
and a pair of torps lance out at Revanche and Archangel. The
torps detoante away from the ships, but the flash temporarily
blinds their targetting sensors. "I can't let you stop me
guys," he mutters to himself. "I have to do this. Wish
me luck." He hails the other Grey's ship. "I was
wondering when you were gonna show up!" He did his best to
sound angry and vicious. He hoped it didn't sound forced.
Grey froze when he heard the call. He turned to TorGal. TorGal
shurgged. Grey touched a button on a nearby panel. "Who is
this?" "I'm you you idiot. They attacked my ship
becuase they thought I was you. They had to pay. I'd love to join
you in killing these bastards. Just open your bay. Pronto!"
Grey smiles. "Well, two heads are better than one, right
TorGal? Open the port docking bay. Take his ship in."
Jake sighed heavily. The evil Grey bought it. Now, all he had to
do was kick in the warp drive at the right moment, turning his
ship into a battering ram. "Computer, ramming speed."
Keith stared at his sensor panel in anger. "I knew we
shouldn't have trusted him! He's a Jake Grey!" Jackson tries
to get the targetting back in alignment, then notices something
eminating from the other Grey's science vessel. "Sir, the
alt-Grey seems to powering up his engines. Awfully dangerous to
do during docking procedures." He looked up as the
realization hit him. Greymoran and Rita figured it out too
becuase they shared a concerned look. "Oh no. Jackson, tell
me, isn't that power up you noticed standard procedure when
ramming speed has been ordered?"
By Lt Commander Sorik on Monday, October 08, 2001 - 04:12 pm: |
Such a pity. I had hoped Mr Grey might ally with ourselves against his evil counterpart.
By Brian Webber on Monday, October 08, 2001 - 04:22 pm: |
Jake Grey closed his
eyes. The massive door had opened. He saw a bunch of ships, most
of which were recognizable, obviously from his own universe. He
took a deep breath. He keyed up the probe, and launched it. It
would carry his goodbye message to Greymoran and the others. He
only hoped they didn't destroy it before reading it, not that he
thought they would think him evil. Not after what he was
preparing to do. "Computer, now."
Redding's eyes went wide when the alt-Grey's vessel went into
warp, slamming hard into the interior of evil Grey's monstrosity.
He could tell before the flash caused him to turn away that at
least a dozen of Grey's vessels were destoryed. The battleship
tilted on it's axis, fire spewing from all over the port side.
Grey and TorGal were thrown to the floor when the impact occured.
"Damage report!" Grey yelled. TorGal struggled against
the shuddering hull to get to his panel. "90%^ of our Star
Trek universe ships, including Red Wizard and I, Claudius have
been destoryed. Only two ships remain active, but one of them has
no chance of escaping and will likely be torn apart by the
secondary explosions." Grey pounded the floor. TorGal
continued. "Sir, the core has been compromised. Macedonia 1
isn't going to make it. Shall I order the evacuation?" Grey
screamed a blood curdling cry into the air, that caused even the
Vampires on the bridge to cringe. "Order it. All ships that
get away, set their courses for different directions and
different universes. With Red Wizard gone, and this station about
to go we've lost the experiemental drive. Open all doors, and
begin loading the personal onto allships amd small craft. TroGal,
you and I shall take the only remaining ST ship. Which one is
it?" "The Yomato sir."
Targetting sensors came back on just seconds after the good Grey
had jumped to warp right into the path of Grey's ship bays.
Almost everyone on the ship was too in shock to notice except
Sorik. He spotted the other bay doors exploding outward,
obviously an emergency procedure, and several ships from various
realities taking off in various directions.

A single tear rolls down Rita's face. Hudzen lowers his head. Keith seems simply frozen in place. Jackson walks up to Greymoran and places a hand on his shoulder. Haer'Dalis, still on the Archangel walks in front of them all. "I know this is no conselation, but what that man did was heroic. Songs will be sung, poems recited for the fallen raven, this I promise mighty wizard." He nods to reymoran. The Revanche flies up alongside the Archangel. "Redding to Greymoran. Come in sir. Are you all right?"
By Brian Webber on Tuesday, October 09, 2001 - 11:37 pm: |
"I'm, I'm fine Captain." Greymoran shake shis head to clear his thoguhts. "Keith, can you get me a bearing on Grey's ships that escaped?" "What? Oh, yes sir. Um, they all took of to various universes sir, in groups of two and three. No way to tell which ship is Grey's sir." Redding hears this and cuts in. "I saw the explosion sir. I think it's safe to say his flagship, I, Claudius was destroyed." Greymoran smiles. "That had to piss him off. Hopefully the destruction of his battlestation will do so even more, and he'll slip up. Captain redding, I'm afraid we'll have to-" "Split up? Yeah I figured. I already had Derisa pick out a potential target for us. A pair of Star Destroyers were severly damaged by the explosions, but were still able to get away. We tracked them to a B5 universe. We're ready to go. Just waiting for haer to come back." "I'm on my way Captain." Haer'Dalis turns to bow for Greymoran then jogs to the turbolift. Keith goes over the records. "OK, I got one sir. I suggest we go to, let's see, WCU9. Sensor records show only one STU style ship." Greymoran's smile broadens. Those Star Trek ships had been a consitent thorn in their sides. Keith paused when he noticed this. "Continue Mr. Yeager." "It's a Galaxy-class vessel sir. It went to WCU9 along with, let's see here, ah. One Cylon Basestar sir." "Excellent choice. I'm willing to bet Grey escaped on that vessel. We'll have to split this mission though. The Terran Confederation can handle the Cylons, although if I remember right in WCU9 they're still recovering from the Border Worlds war. But they wouldn't last long against even a standard Galaxy-class. Keith, I want you and," Greymoran visually scans his crew all standing on the bridge except Ahz, who is till conspicuously absent. "Commander Sorik, to take a shuttle to Confed command & control on Earth. Rita, as soon as they're gone, we'll follow those two ships. They'll probably be long gone by the time we jump to where they jumped, but it's a start." Carrie's voice chimes in. "Portal generator is on-line and ready. Just give the order." Greymoran nods. "OK. Crew, I want you to take a moment and remember, we've got an edge unlike any other. Grey is on the run. Hopefully this good luck will continue. We'll take time to remember the other Jake Grey and his sacrifice later, but for now," he makes a dramtic pause. "We go get the bastard Grey, and make him pay for everything he's done."
