Microsoft Reader 2.0 is quite a useful tool. I often use the dictionaries that can be downloaded freely from Microsoft. There are also free tools available, such as Read in Microsoft Reader and ReaderWorks Standard 2.0 to turn your documents into Reader-compatible format.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Reader 2.0 is not supported on Chinese or Japanese version of Pocket PC 2002. The installation will not work. Until now, that is.
1. Things NeededThose two files are available from an English version of Pocket PC 2002 (or from other language versions that are supported by Reader) under the /Windows folder. They are part of the DRM components for Reader. Alternatively, get the file here.
2. What To DoSimple, really. Copy those two files into the /Windows folder of your device. Now you can install Reader normally.
3. LimitationI do not have any DRM-protected eBooks, therefore I have no need for activation. But I have heard that activation does not work if you install Reader this way. Those who need to activate their copy of Reader take note.
