Project Report

Project Name - Foods

  • Design Brief: To prepare and make crepes and Cany Apples
  • Context: People Love food. In this project we made crepes and Candy Apples.
  • Possible Solutions: Buy the food pre-made, or make it yourself
  • Design Constraints: The following are some constraints or limitations for this project:
  1. You will work in groups
  2. The finished product shall be sampled by Mr Furguson at the end of the Period.
  • Detail Design: The following are the steps to designing and making your foods.
  1. Ensure that the work area is clear of hazardous materials (i.e., oil, gas, rags, wood, plastic, etc.)
  2. Crepe Recipe: Combine the flour, salt, and milk and beat until smooth. Beat or blend in the eggs and stir in the melted butter or oil. If time allows, refrigerate for an hour and then beat again. Place a small non-stick skillet with shallow sides over medium heat. Ladle about 1 tablespoon of batter into the skillet and swirl it around so that it forms a thin layer on the bottom of the pan. Pour the excess batter back into the bowl. The batter will dry before your eyes; when the top is no longer liquid (less than a minute), turn the crepe and cook the other side for about 15 seconds. The crepe should brown only slightly and not become crisp. Adjust the heat as needed. Stack the finished crepes on a plate and keep warm in an oven.
  3. Candy Apple: Purchase Candy a mixture and follow instructions on back of package
  4. Materials: The following are the ingredients you will need: 1 cup all-purpose flour Pinch salt 1-1/4 cups milk 2 eggs 2 tablespoons melted and cooled butter or oil 1 Tablespoon sugar (only if using a sweet topping) Toppings/fillings of your choice (Brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon for a Beaver Tail-like crepe) and Candied apple mixture.
