Project Report |
Project Name -- Tallest Tower |
- Design Brief: To design and make the tallest tower.
- Context: Buildings and other structures are constructed in many shapes and sizes. Columns used in construction are also in many different shapes and sizes. The CN Tower, too has a distinct shape. The shape and size of these structures allow them to reach great heights.
- Possible Solutions: Possible Solutions: circles, triangles, squares, other polygons, slender, wide
- Design Constraints: The following are some constraints or limitations for this project:
- You may work in groups of two
- The project will be evaluated this period
- The tower can not be taped to the floor or any supports
- You have 45 minutes to complete the project
- You will have three sheets of paper and 2" of tape.
- Detail Design: The following are the steps to designing and making your tower.
- Ensure that the work area is clear of hazardous materials (i.e., oil, gas, rags, wood, plastic, etc.)
- Plan ahead what you are planning to do. Discuss this with your partner
- Build your final tower using the coloured paper. .
- Cut out walls to scale.
- Clean-up your work area and put your tools away.
- Materials: sheet of paper, tape, rulers, and scissors.
- Commissioning: Were you successful in this project when you tried it out?
- Evaluation: Did this project work as you expected it to?
- Reflection: Did you enjoy this project? What were you most proud of? What would you do differently next time?
