Marshall's  Notes on Dango, Arizona Defenses

The wall surrounding the ville is constructed from a conglomerate of materials including molded concrete, stone, brick, cinder block, logs and construction girders covered with an adobe facade. It is thickest at the base, tapering a bit toward the top with battlements and a wooden walkway around the inside perimeter.  The wall is approximately 20 feet high and over ten feet thick at the base.

The front gate is the only entrance to the ville (at least "visible" and large enough for vehicles).  It consists of two massive pieces of inch-thick steel plate reinforced with steel bars - one set behind the other creating an "airlock" effect between.  The smaller platform to the left of the gate has a full field of fire into this area.  Each of the two gates are on rolling gear assemblies and must be crancked open manually (with two people manning a crank this takes two turns per gate).  The gate can safely accomodate vehicles up to the size of a semi.

Each platform is typically manned by two members of the ville sec force and has a pinion mounted large crossbow (4d6 AP1 Dam, Speed 2, ROF 1, Range 15, 1 action to reload) along with 10 of the javelin-sized steel-tipped bolts for the bow.  Each sec man is typically armed with an SA assault rifle with 20 rounds.  At night each platform is also equipped with a large hand held spirit battery powered searchlight.  The platform by the gate is additionally equipped with an SA SAW with 30 rounds at all times.  No less than 10 additional sec men patrol the walls.  The ville armory is quite well stocked and includes several "heavier" defensive elements should the need arise. The battlement around the wall and platforms gives anyone firing from behind it partial cover at an armor value of 4 (this does not apply to individuals firing the crossbows, which are elevated slightly higher by neccessity).  Access to the battlements and platforms are from numerous ladders around the inside of the ville compound.  All able-bodied members of the ville must serve a time of duty on the sec force and are trained in the implementation of their weapons.  At any given time the "active" sec force consists of about 75 members.  The sec force "uniform" consists of  jeans, a white t-shirt with the black stencilled words "Concert Security" on it, and a black baseball cap.

The  gates are opened at dawn for trading and are closed again at dusk.  Strangers in town must find accomodations or make arrangements with the Ville Council by nightfall or are escourted out of town.  The gates are not opened at night unless absolutely neccessary due to the large number of walkin' dead prevalent to the area.  At night there can be found upwards of 5d10 walkin' dead right outside the ville walls.  The number mysteriously drops in daylight hours, but even during the day it is not uncommon to see 1d10 of the creatures in the hills within sight of the ville.  Guards typically only deal with the deaders when absolutely neccessary viewing them as a "natural defense".
