This is the figure I finished for the next competition. The competition is still a month away but I decided to update the web page now instead of later. I really enjoyed this piece. I did a lot of work on the NMM parts but tried to make them darker than most people do metal work. I had a lot of fun making the base for this figure. The stones are a bunch of little balls made from putty and just layed down in a random order. When these were done I pressed in the defeated foe so he would have a place to rest. Then I took him out and let it all dry. After painting it I made some tufts of grass and glued those on in the cracks between the rocks. I think it all turned out fairly well. I'll give an update once I know how it did in the competition at the end of May.

UPDATE!
Well, It was a good weekend for the San Francisco Bay Area Mini Painters group. Nearly everyone who entered placed and some people place multiple times. Even my Minotaur did well, and placed first in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi Monster category. YEA! my first win. I guess it reaffirms that I am heading in the right direction. I still have a long ways to go though. There is always the best of show award. ;)
