This is an elf from Foundry miniatures. It was suppposed to be a nice little peaceful elf with flowing robes and such. I decided I would rather make it into a dark elf that was mostly naked. The required a lot of work with the X-Acto knife cutting off all the clothes. The original sculpt can be seen at the bottom of the page. No Sculpting putty was used on the elf, it was just a matter of cutting away what I didn't want. After cutting away the metal, I decided to make a new sword from brass wire and add chains made from a necklace. Then the hanging skull needed a bit of support so I added the small gargoyle and attached the skull to his wingtip for support. UPDATE!
I took this miniature up to Medford, Oregon for the painting competition over President's Day weekend 2003. It won first place in the Fantasy category. The Crab Lady on the next page won first place in the Sci-Fi category. A great day for me and my minis.
