5/5/06 - Wow, 3 years since an update. Time does fly. Griptape is dead as shit, but I added the mp3s from "Attack of the Skate Zombies." Download it and burn copies for your mother.

4/27/03 - New show added... may 10 @ WMUC. Shows section. Bryan from Deastars/Looks Like Rain will be filling in on drums for a few shows with us, and we couldn't be more grateful! Oh yeah, and coming soon we're gonna have www.griptape.org!! not yet though, but soon!

4/15/03 - We have one new confirmed show in the shows section with Striking Distance, Desperate Measures, and alot more at UMD on June 7th. Check that out. Check back often too, there are lots of possible shows that are a MAYBE right now. Also, we are looking for a PERMANANT drummer to start playing with us sometime in JUNE. If you wanna do this, just email us pronto! thanks!

2/27/03 - Site updated, show added (not too many details yet, sorry), and a song added in the lyrics section. Chino just recently played his last show with griptape for a while. Sadly, he had to move to Indonesia, and is currently living there right now. As for the griptape lineup, Avi will move to bass, and Owen W. will become the new bassist! 2/18/03 - Griptape has been busy preparing for the show with BLOOD FOR BLOOD (check the shows section). Sadly, however, it will be Chino's last show with Griptape for a year or so. He has to move back to Indonesia, so show him some love before he moves.

2/1/03 - Last night we played a house show in Silver Spring! The reason you didn't know about it was because it was a suprise party! Check the shows section for more info yo.

1/31/03 - Ok, theres a chance that Chino can stay in the USA for good! Either way, he is definately playing the show we have on FEB. 22 with BLOOD FOR BLOOD! We just got this show, and we are psyched as hell! The entire line-up is rad. Check the shows section for more info! In other news, we have had a line up change. Avi is now the griptape bassist, but we wish Kawan the best and will support him in the future with his new band(s).

1/27/03 - Chino is leaving to Indonesia till sometime next year, as a result Joel will become the guitarist of griptape. Chino leaves on Feb. 8th, but he will still be playing the show on the 7th with the Chernobyl Kids, Bionic Man, etc. and will return to griptape once he gets back from indonesia.

1/18/03 - Our show with the Aftermath, MOY, and the Chase got cancelled due to venue problems. It's all good! Thanks John for the effort! In other news, we just found out the line-up for the Feb 7 show, and its gonna be crazy! Go to the shows section for more info. Also, we have a shitload of demos just waiting to be passed out. Talk to us if you want one. We also mad an MP3 PAGE where you can download the songs. Check it out!!

1/14/02 - Our show with the Aftermath, MOY, and the Chase has gotten moved to a house! Note the change! The electric maid is undergoing building repairs or something. We dont know the exact location of the show, but we will keep everyone updated as soon as we find out. For the latest, most up to date info, check the UKI board or Pheer board.

1/12/02 - We did it!!! We finally recorded our demo! bout' fuckin time! Thank you so much to Ben Nelson for recording us! From what we heard, the quality is pretty damn good, and it sounds great. Unfortunately, the electric maid has been condemmed by building inspectors. This means that our show on the 17th most likely will not be at the maid. The show may be postponed or moved to a different location, but as of now we do not know... we'll keep everybody posted though. On february 7th, Griptape will be playing at the Bionic house with Dead stars, Bionic man and more tba. Info about the show tba. Keep checking back.

12/22/02 - How's everybody doin? Griptape is going to record the demo with Ben Nelson over the holiday break before we go back to school. This cd is gonna shred 20 times more than the last one we made that our drummer never gave to us. fuck him by the way. oh yeah, we will have shirts (and demos) for the show on the 17th @ the Maid. Check that out. Griptape is looking for shows! If you have an open spot on your show please email us! We love playing shows! Lyrics section has been updated so that it has all the songs from the demo. A show is being set up on March 21st in DC. Info coming soon....

12/16/02 - Hey dudes... we just found out that our shirts will be ready for the show this friday at the Maid (go to shows section for info). These will be for sale to help us raise some money for recording (not cheap!). Also, I scanned in the flier for the show on the 17th. To see it, click HERE!

12/8/02 - Yo everybody, Griptape is putting the finishing touches on the songs that we have written for the demo we will be recording. Look for the cd in January or Feb. Also, everybody should come out to our 2 shows that we have coming up.. Dec. 20th @ the Maid as well as Jan. 17th @ the maid. Shows section has been updated. Check it out. Chris dunlop(our old drummer) sucks.

11/26/02 - Hey, We have another show that has been added to the SHOWS section. Also, Chris from Twin Cheek Assault will be drumming for us for a good amount of time. Relax, were not going anywhere. We are writing new songs so we can record in December.

11/19/02 - It is official that we are not ganna release our cd. News is that our old drummer trashed the only copy of the cd. We are ganna re-do our old songs and make them sound better and write new songs to, and hopefully we will be heading into the recording studio again sometime in december. Details for the show on december 20th on the shows section.


11/17/02 - Hey everybody! We would like to thank everybody for coming to our show yesterday at the Electric Maid. We would especially like to thank those who stuck around despite the delay with the PA. We are sorry for the wait. Also, we only played a two song set with Chris from Twin Cheek Assault and we are happy to say that he will be filling in on drums. This is due to our EX DRUMMER totally flaking out on us last minute and being nowhere to be found for band practice or even when we tried to pick him up to take him to the show. he really pissed us off and there is no way hes in the band anymore after certain things that he's said and done. SOooooo griptape will be playing with another drummer (yeah thats right a DIFFERENT drummer dickhead!) for our show on the 20th. We are really sorry for those who were upset that we only played 2 songs. We are writing new material with the new drummer (temp. drummer) and you can expect faster harder and more intense songs that will make you punch your mom and kick your dog! We dont know when the demo will be out. In fact, we doubt that the demo even exists at this point. our EX DRUMMER is the only guy with a copy, and due to his stuck up, "im god" attitude we will probably never have it. sorry people. expect a better demo anyways in the future!

11/12/02 - Sorry its been a while since the last update. We are very busy and very active right now! We have two shows coming up as well as our demo cd being done! The demos will be available at the Electric Maid on the November 16th show! Show added as well. Go to the SHOWS section for more info!

10/26/02 - We just made a new website design.  We are still planning to fix more things on the website sometime soon.   Our CD is already done, so it should be out soon.
