This week pup went to a
training workshop about how to serve at a formal D/s meal.
It was a lot of fun and the night went off without a hitch. First of all a
few of us sub's got together to discuss the etiquette behind serving at a
formal D/s meal. We were shown the proper way to serve and clear
plates etc, about kneeling during the meal, how to serve drinks quietly.
Basically we were told to be invisible the whole time, to be there but not
be seen or heard.
We were shown how to set a table properly for a formal meal which was
handy because it's something I didn't know much about, even though it's
really simple to do.
During the night I served Sir and someone got to serve Ma'am, I was hoping
to be able to serve both of them, but that wasn't possible because there
was only 6 sub's and 6 Dom's.
It was kind of weird when serving drinks not to be aloud to ask if the
person wanted another drink, it was hard just standing there holding the
bottle or jug of water waiting for them to notice you and say yes or no.
As well as waiting for them to obviously be done with their plates, if
they didn't eat all the food on it sometimes it was hard to tell if they
were finished or just eating slowly without being able to ask them if they
would like you to take the plate away now.
I quite like kneeling in the room behind the person I was serving, that
being Sir, it was much easier to keep an eye on things rather then like at
Sir and Ma'am's night where I spent most of the night in the kitchen and
had to wait for Ma'am to come out and tell me they were done or someone to
call out to me, as well as being easier to keep an eye on the drinks and
keep them topped up, which was harder with the one Sir and Ma'am did
again, because I was in the kitchen a lot and only got the chance to top
up the drinks when I went in to serve the next course.
I can't wait for the next big meal in November, it's going to be a lot of
fun and I feel really well prepared for it, but I do sort of hope that Sir
and Ma'am do another one before then, because it's so much fun!
