I welcomed Cassie the Calico into my life on Oct 9, 1991 and into my heart. She was just nine months old & she'd already had a litter of kittens. The guy I got her from had her spayed (a great idea) and 10 other cats and could no longer keep them all. I was happy to bring her home. She was VERY timid & very shy. She spent 4 months under my bed venturing out at night to eat and potty (usually on me). But she soon outgrew that and became my best gal pal. She is now 10 years old and the best darn cat I have ever had. She is my "KEYBOARD ATTACHMENT". She spends hours next to the computer content to hang out with me.
Smokie is a Persian/Burmese mix. He weighs in at 13 lbs. I adopted Smokie as a 3 month old from the Glendale Animal Shelter in 1994. He had been a street cat, his mother had been abandoned shortly before his birth. He is an attention hound. He loves to be pet and loved. He also loves to sit in the sun. His once black & gray coat now has red highlights from all his outdoor Jaunts. (He was fixed at age 6 months so we would not have any little Smokey's or any marking.) He is quite the demanding young man. Yelling for attention at 5 am. He usually gets his way. He loves to take a bath and hang out in the window. His newest chore is teasing Josh. What a cat.
**As of October 1999 Smokie has been missing. We like to think that while we were out of town, he got out and someone gave him a new home. Our fear is that he has passed to the bridge with a few other local cats at the "hands" of some loose, wild dogs. My heart has been a little emptier without this wonderful cat in my life. I wish him well, where ever he is.**
I am not sure what my life would be like without these 2 characters. We love one another very much. Kitty Kisses to you all! Please spay/neuter your pets to prevent unwanted animals being let loose in the community or into the already overcrowded shelters. Thank you!

In June of 2000 we added Kiley to the family. Someone tossed her out of a car in front of me and she has been here ever since.

My how tiny she was then......
**Kiley was stolen from us in October on the very day she was set to be spayed. It broke my heart to lose this little angel, but I hope she is happy in her new home. The person who took her probably did not realize they had the wrong cat until they got home and by then it was too late. (Maybe one day she will find her way back to us)**

Silver is a 13 year old Silver Tabby that was dumped at the Pasadena Humane Society by his family as they got a new younger kitten and claimed he was spraying. We have had him since December 2000 and have not seen any of this behavior.
