His Majesty, Max
This is his royal highness Max of
Crescenta, AKA Max. He was a 6 year old chocolate cocker spaniel. His days were spent
chasing pesky birds out of the backyard and playing with Smiley. One thing he was really
good at was chasing birds. He never caught them, just played with them. We lost Max on
April 3, 1998 due to an in-operable brain tumor. It changed his whole life. He was well
loved and is missed. Cancer did not affect him until his last months with us. He became a
different dog. His journey to the Bridge was peaceful for him and very painful for his
family. Please take a moment and view his life. Chocolate hugs to all.

I thought I would add some more about my Max. I met Max when he was but days
old. My sister owned his mom, Muffin. Max was to be a present for my mom, who at
the time was recovering from cancer surgery and missed her first Max, she
desperately wanted a dog to cuddle with her. I watched him grow from a peanut, to an
adorable adult. Max and I went through obedience training when he was 2 with his
sister Tootsie. He got 1st in his class. He and I were bonded from almost day 1.
Unfortunately for Max, he wanted to play and not cuddle, so when I moved North,
we took Max in and made him ours. All the kids in the neighborhood loved him and
always asked him to come out and play. It was hard not to love this guy.
At night, he slept right next to me on the bed. He always loved to run in the
park. We would go to the school by our house to let him and Smiley off leash and
he would run after the birds in the yard until they settled elsewhere, then he'd
head off again.
Max also had an addiction to tennis balls. He would
carry them around and then proceed to tear the skin off them and bring you the
slippery mess. He loved any kind of ball. He also loved to chase the ball into
the pool. If you did not want to play, hey that was ok with him. He would toss
it in the pool and go in after it. :)
