Catskill Mountain Fish and Game Club

Activities and Events:

Range: Catskill Mountain Fish and Game Club has a 200 yard outdoor range with four firing points. Members can shoot shotgun, black powder, rifle, trap, or archery.

Hunter Safety Education Courses: Held every fall and spring for gun and for bowhunting. Next course is scheduled for April 20th and 21st, 2002 (must attend both sessions). Pre-registration is required.

Kids' Fishing Derbies: The annual ice-fishing derby held on February 16th, 2002 at Tannersville Lake saw 8" of good ice, with partly sunny skies and temps from 30 - 40 degrees. 57 children registered, and caught a good amount of pickerel and yellow perch. Prizes were awarded for "biggest fish" and "most fish" in the junior and senior divisions. All children received a prize and were given hot chocolate and all the hot dogs they could eat. This derby is for youths up to age 15. Date of next year's derby will be posted when available.

An open-water derby is held annually in late spring at Tannersville Lake. Date for 2002 to be announced.

These derbies are co-sponsored by Catskill Mountain Fish & Game Club and Stoney Clove Rod and Gun Club. Both derbies are open to the public.
