Annual Banquet: The 2002 banquet was held on January 26th at the Quarry Steak House, Route 81, Coxsackie. This banquet is a fun night, and is set up to be enjoyed by the ladies, as well as the guys! Dinner is choice of ham, turkey, or roast beef, served family style. We have Chinese bucket raffles, other special drawings, and door prizes; plus, a DJ provides music for dancing. You do not have to be a member of a sportsmen's club to attend our annual banquet. Seating is limited. Advance tickets only (no tickets at the door).

A special note: all proceeds from the 2001 banquet were donated to "Hunt of A Lifetime". "Hunt of A Lifetime" is a non-profit organization that grants hunting and fishing adventures to children who have been diagnosed with terminal or life threatening illnesses. Bear Fest: August 23-25 at Tannersville Lake.
Hunters Helping the Hungry: The Federation sponsors the Hunters Helping the Hungry program in Greene County. This program enables sportsmen to donate much-needed meat to our LOCAL food pantries. Simply tell the processor you would like to donate. Participating processor for the 2002 season is Richard Dedie, Rich's Custom Meat Shop, Maple Ave., Greenville, 518-966-8597.
Trout Stocking: Federation members work with the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation each spring to stock trout in areas that are open to public fishing. Federation members also work with landowners to obtain public access for fishing on privately owned lands. In the spring of 2002, we stocked over 45,000 trout in our local mountain and valley area streams and lakes.
Scholarship Award: The Federation offers a scholarship each year to a graduating high school senior from Greene County, who is going on to college in the fields of fish, forestry, wildlife, or environmental studies. Applications for the 2002 scholarship are available in Guidance Offices of all Greene County High Schools.
A special note: The Federation voted to award two scholarships for 2002. The Federation sincerely congratulates Ginny Palmer, and congratulations to Jennifer Ryan, recipients of the Scolarships. Both are graduating seniors from Greenville High School.
Sportsmen's March on Albany: Federation members participate each year in the NYS Conservation Council's "Sportsmen's March on Albany". The 2002 date was Tuesday, March 19th. This is an opportunity for sportsmen and all outdoor enthusiasts to meet with legislators and their staff, to voice support for their work on things in your interest and to let them know what you are opposed to. Join us in listening to their plans; voice your opinions and make your interests known. You do not have to belong to a sportsmen's club to participate. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
Fishing Clinic: With Cairo Fish & Game Club. August 3, 2002, At the Bavarian Manor, Registration 9:30 AM, Fish from 10AM to 12PM. Open to anglers 13 years old & younger, Free Bait Provided, Adult Must Be Present! Refreshments will be served.
Special Note: The fishing clinic had a real good turn out. It was a real nice day and all the kids had fun. They can't wait to have another derby.
