R-C Sportsmen's Club

Ranges: R-C has a fifty foot indoor range with four firing points, and a 175 yard outdoor range with two firing points.

Trap Shooting: Thursdays at 5 PM and Sundays at 9 AM. R-C is a member of the Capital Region Trap League, which schedules shoots during the summer at various locations. Dates and locations will be posted when they become available.

The County Trap League banquet will be held on Sept. 21 starting at 10AM with shoot-offs starting at 12 noon. Lunch will be served from 12PM to 3PM and dinner at 4PM. There will be trophies, food and fun all day for league shooters.

3D Archery League: Club has 3D course with 28 targets. Shoot every Wednesday afternoon, Friday afternoon, and Saturday from 8 AM to Noon. Capitaland Bowhunters usually holds a shoot at R-C during the summer. Date will be posted when it becomes available.

Training Sessions: Trap, archery, 3D archery: scheduled as needed for ages 12 and older.

An Archery Safety Course will be held on October 12 starting at 8:00AM for one day. This is a state-required course if you will be bow hunting this year.

Hunter Education Safety Courses: Pre-registration is required. Courses are scheduled for both gun and bow. Spring and fall dates will be posted as soon as available.

A Hunter Safety Course will be held on October 18 and 19. You must attend both days! Friday from 6 to 10PM and Saturday from 8AM to 5PM.

Turkey Shoots: The annual Turkey Shoot is scheduled for October 6 and is an all day event. Rifles, shotguns and handguns are welcome. There will be no trap shooting on that day.

Annual Fishing Derby: For kids ages one through sixteen in RCS Schools. Scheduled annually in late spring, date to be announced. Hot dogs, soda, prizes. Sponsored by R-C Sportsmen's Club and Ravena Fish and Game Club.

Pistol Safety Course: A Pistol Safety Course is scheduled for Oct. 25 from 7 to 11. This is a state-required course in order to obtain a pistol permit. Pre-registraton is required. Call the club at 518-756-2048 for info.
