A song made popular by the American singer Neil Sedaka.
Lesson Ideas.
- Listen carefully to the two sound sources (midi and mp3 available)
- Read through the words line by line, then learn to read them in the rhythm of the song.
- Using unpitched percussion, or body percussion, try to improvise some rhythm accompaniments to the song.
- Try to organise your percussion arrangements so that you have two distinct sections; one arrangement to accompany the first two verses and a completely
- different arrangement to accompany the third and fourth verse. Write out your ideas on a chart.
- If possible, record your performance. Try to think of ways that you can improve it.
- Try to follow the bass line of the song using
- metalophones or xylophones. Try these notes:-
