Cloud nine made abrilliant album called "Millennium" that was due to
be released on Acid Jazz label in the mid nineties. Disaster struck a week
before commercial release when the album was injuncted because of an uncleared
fatback band sample. 9,500 copies out of a total presale of 10,000 were recalled
and destroyed, 500 avoiding the bailiffs and slipping through the net creating
the rarest of all album releases on acid jazz. The group however didn`t survive
the strain and commotion, disbanding soon after. Mark Brydon one of the members
of Cloud Nine, went on to form Moloko and gain international superstardom. |
