At college, Andrew Missingham met Tony Colman with whom he formed Izit
in 1988. The hugely influential single, 'Stories' conquered clubland and
established Izit as a first class drum 'n' bass-led dance outfit that could
deliver the goods live, they recorded album "The whole affair". In 1995
Missingham left the band. Later Izit recorded "Imaginary Man" a jazzy oriented
album with following members: Nicola Bright-Thomas on vocals, Tony Colman
on guitar, keyboards, programming, Peter Shrubshall on flute and tenor saxophone,
Jim Carmichael on drums, Neville Malcom on bass and Jon Shorten on
wurlitzer, moog and hammond organ. It seems they are not together anymore,
but their music is still very enjoyable for acid jazz lovers. |
