Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon chose the name Kindred for the 10-piece
soul band they lead because they wanted a name that represented family. For
the past couple of years, they've been part of the same Philadelphia creative
community that has spawned The Roots and Jill Scott, blowing away audiences
with blistering live performances. It was longtime friend Scott who urged
her Hidden Beach label's president, Steve McKeever, to check them out, and
the songwriting couple is now set to deliver in 2003 their first album called
Surrender to Love.
