Sisters Helene and Celia Faussar are Les Nubians.They offer a jazzy,
sophisticated style of R&B that combine french lyrics with the influence
of Sade, Soul II Soul, hip hop and African pop. They were born in France
to a french father and a cameroonian mother. After living in France as children,
the siblings moved with their parents to the african country of Chad in 1985.
The sisters lived in Chad for seven years before returning to France as
teenagers. Eventually, they started working with bands and performing original
material. Their promising debut album, "Princesses Nubiennes", was released
in France in 1998, they have recorder songs as guest artists in many albums,
including the last Guru's Jazzmatazz album. Now in 2003 finally, their second
album is on the street and it's called "One Step Forward". |
