Fact or Crap? It's Your Call!

This Week's "Fact or Crap" Questions

2003 Questions

Scroll down to read complete rules on how to play.

The "Fact or Crap? It's Your Call!" game is being placed on indefinite hiatus due to declining interest.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in the game these past three months. For those who haven't played before,
feel free to play the April, May, and June games for 2003 in the archives. These are self-scoring games and will
give you the answers after you take the quizzes. For those of you that have been playing, the final standings and
prizes will be awarded the first part of July, 2003. The top three winners for each of the months have
been immortalized elsewhere on this page. Great work, guys, and thanks again!

THE RULES

Each week you will be given ten questions, two for each weekday. The questions will be posted on the website as soon as possible every Sunday morning as close to 12:00 am MST as possible. Unless stated otherwise each week's quiz will expire on the following Saturday at midnight MST. You will have 7 days to answer ten questions. Each statement is written as if it is a "FACT" and you must decide if the question is indeed a "FACT" or if it is "CRAP" (untrue). It's your call! All answers default to the "FACT" button, so you must physically pick the "CRAP" button if you think the statement is false. You may view the quiz daily, if you wish, but once you decide to submit your answers, you may not submit another set of answers for the same quiz. Your first set of answers are the only ones that count in the scoring. Each question is worth 10 points, so the maximum score for any given week is 100 points. The scores will be tallied each week, and the top three scores will be placed on the "Fact or Crap" webpage of the LHS Alumni Website. The monthly winner will be awarded The Great Golden Groovy Greyhound Genius of the Month Award. The second and third place finishers will also be listed. (In case of a tie, the lowest monthly score will be thrown out for each individual and the new best overall monthly score will win. If need be the 2nd worse score will then be thrown out and the scores tallied. This process will continue until only one weekly score remains for each and then the best score wins. If still tied, the person who has answered the most questions since Apr. 1. 2003 will be awarded the tiebreaker for their loyalty and support to the game. If both are still tied, the one with the best over-all score from the same date will be the winner. Let's hope it doesn't have to go any further than this...LOL)

Anyone may play as long as they enter the required information on the quiz form. Everyone must fill out their name used in high school, the year of their graduating class, and the high school, city and state that they attended high school. If you attended more than one high school, choose the school you wish to play for. Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Illinois classmates must play for LHS/LCHS whether they actually graduated there or not. The person with the most points at the end of each Quarter will be given a free prize. We have LHS/LCHS coffee mugs, caps, visors, t-shirts, mouse pads, calculators, pen and pencil desk sets, music CD's, refrigerator magnets and many other gifts to give away. It is my sole responsibility to pick and choose what prizes will be awarded to each quarterly winner depending on availability and my personal whimsy.

The "Fact or Crap? It's Your Call!" game will be played as a daily game on the Lebanon Greyhound Delphi Forum as well. It will probably be played using the poll format, so that anyone can play without having to give their name, however, it is encouraged to reply to the poll to give your best explanation of why the statement is either "Fact" or "Crap". The most creative answers may also be subject to a free prize. Anyone can nominate their favorite responses to be placed in a quarterly poll to see who wins the prize for creative thinking. This is also the perfect place to impress your classmates and friends with your knowledge of "CRAP". I will only tell you if the answers are "FACT" or "CRAP". If you want to know why, someone will have to share their "CRAP" knowledge with us and provide proof that can be easily confirmed. Another poll will be held each quarter to determine the person who appears to know the most "CRAP". This person may also be eligible for a prize, so there are three ways to win a prize. If the same person wins more than one of the three prizes, I reserve the right to substitute one prize of greater or lessor value instead of two or three separate prizes. Again, this is my call, so no bitching, please.

I will try to keep the on site scoreboard as up-to-date as possible, so you can see who is in the lead. My answer sources will be considered the only valid source of answers, but if I decide a given answer is incorrect, I have the sole authority to change the answer, but need not do so. The accepted answers will be left up to the discretion of the judge and shall be final.

Do you think you know more "CRAP" than anyone else?

Okay, then. Prove it.

Good luck to everyone!

Best Wishes,
The Groovy Greyhound
Steve Bennett, Class of 1972

The Great Golden Groovy Greyhound
Genius of the Month Award

For June, 2003

presented to

Kathie Burnett, Class of 1972
La Quinta High School
Westminster, California

in special recognition of your

complex cognitive cranial capacity for "Crap" and the complete control
and containment of this cosmic, cockamamy "Crap" consciousness consistent
with your convincing quest to conquer other connoisseurs of "Crap" using a
curious continuum of copious, conversant counterintelligence to combat your
cunning counterparts of competition with crucial and critical crosscurrents
of cryptic crosscultural countermeasures to complete the condemnation,
containment, and curtailment of the procreation of more unconscionable
"CRAP", that may otherwise be construed as a complacency toward a conducive
inclusion of cool and copacetic "Crap" as a cohesive classification of the
communicable, catching, and highly contagious component of cancerous conduct
within the ranks of the cantankerous club of cool cats cohabitating the
country as well as the cosmos.

In other words "Crap is a Fact of Life", and many kudos go to the winner of
this prestigious award. Congratulations on your distinguished achievement
and for your illustrious and celebrated prominence among your peers.

Hey, this is a hard game, and it's just for fun!
So, just do the best you can, and be happy and proud for every point you get.
Kudos to everyone who has the guts to play.
Those of you that are too chicken to try, well, hang your heads in shame
and bow down to your fearless friends and classmates who are putting
their necks on the line week after week to help secure
"The Great Golden Groovy Greyhound Award" for their alma mater each month.
This trophy symbolizes all that is good in the world.
It teaches and exudes good sportsmanship, pride in one's school,
spirit, diligence, stong moral fiber, character, and principles,
and last and most importantly it teaches us how to laugh and how to love.
Thanks to those who battle weekly for this coveted award, to help keep
America strong and safe from the apathy that often plagues our society.
Remember, these warriors are the ones who put themselves at risk
each and every week to give you the freedom of choice whether to get involved or not.
Their selfless acts of courage allow the rest of you to remain
free and safe from fear and ridicule.
May God Bless America and the "Great, Golden, Groovy Greyhound Award"
for which it kinda, sorta stands!! Stand tall and be counted,
you, the few, the proud, the no longer teens.
Let your voices be heard from atop the mighty mountain.
Give us "The Great, Golden, Groovy Greyhound Award" or give us death,
for without it, life itself becomes meaningless.
Besides, it's a lot easier to obtain than the Holy Grail. (Big Smile)
