The Experience System, and Implications
How much
experience do I need to reach level
Without any further delay, let's get down to business. Currently, the generally accepted formula for the experience required to attain a given level is:
Exp = Level^3 * R * C * H
where
Exp = experience required
Level = the level in question
R = Race Multiplier
C = Class Multiplier
H = the "Hell" Multiplier
Two important points need to be noted here. First, players begin the game at level 1, not 0. Secondly, when determining the "Hell" multiplier to be used, the correct one to choose is the multiplier for the level that has to be completed in order to reach the level in question, e.g. the multiplier for level 30 is used when calculating the experience required for level 31. So, in actuality, the equation more closely resembles the following:
Exp = (Level-1)^3 * R * C * (H for Level-1)
If this seems unclear, don't worry - I spent a lot of time pondering the formula before I really understood it. Here are the multipliers that are used:

One of the outstanding features of the formula when combined with the multipliers above is that it puts certain Race/Class combinations at a significant disadvantage in terms of experience required to level. To illustrate this point, consider this comparison of the experience curves of the Halfling Warrior and the Troll ShadowKnight (two classes at opposite ends of the Multiplier spectrum):
There are some interesting points to note about the above graph:
