According to Rita' grandma who knew them, Norman & Lucy took their 5 daughters & 1 son to Kansas, between 1925-1930, where they stayed. One of the daughters was named Dottie, the son was "Mandy." The Michigan Grovenburgs didn't hear from Norman's family after that.

Lucy L. Grovenburgh was born January 23, 1893, at Broughton, Kansas, the daughter of Norman L. Kipp and Martha A. Schoonover Kipp. She passed away Monday, December 5, 1988, in her home at the age of 95 years, 10 months, and 12 days. She was united in marriage to Norman H. Grovenburgh on June 17, 1916, at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He passed away in 1945. Mrs. Grovenburgh spent her early years in the Bala, Kansas area. She lived for many years near Battle Creek, Michigan, before moving to the Wamego, Kansas community in 1941. She was a homemaker. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Grovenburgh was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Akin Grovenburgh; two daughters, Pearl Grovenburgh and Dot Sare; her parents, three brothers, seven sisters, and four grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Lloyd grovenburgh, Richland, Michigan; four daughters, Flossie Scofield and Eunice Silva, both of Manhattan, Florence Swindell, Portage, Michigan, and Tessie Bussart, Wamego; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild, many other relatives and friends.
The funeral was at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, Friday, Dec. 9, 1988. Norman H. Grovenburg and Lucy L. Kipp had the following children:
