GENERAL NOTES;
Born - 1 Sep 1877 Clay Center, Clay Co., KS (from Cindy Fancher)
Van was born 1 Sept 1878 in Clay County Kansas. He married Margery Rebecca Foley
7 Jan 1898 in Canadian Co.. Oklahoma. They had many children, Myrt being the
youngest born 1927, I believe. I have known her all our lives. When I was a little
girl I would go to the store in Banner Okla. with my father. I played with the
store owner's grand daughter which is Myrt. We lost touch with each other for
years as I lived on the west coast for 15 years.
Myrt and I worked next door to each other in 1964 after I returned to El Reno,
Okla. One day I called her Myrtle Ann. We looked at each other quite shocked
as we had not realized we ever knew each other. She said, "No one calls
me that, but my mother did and Grandma." We laughed and I remembered the
little girl in Banner and told her about it. She said," Well, that was me".
We have been friends ever since - and now neighbors.
Later we found Ray, my husband, had Niles in his family tree and the search was
on to connect so they could claim each other. Not proven yet but know their families
were in the same town in Connecticut in the early 1800s. [Roberta Rush) He
was married to Margery Rebecca Foley on 7 Jan 1898 in Canadian Co., Oklahoma.
